Eddie Howe - New Stadium Vital

Eddie talking on Solent this morning.

We have the playing side sorted, now it is time to concentrate on the new training pitches and a new stadium for the future of our club.

After the EM experience I simply can't imagine Howe ever considering West Ham with their current owners in place. Not just them, even Karen Brady spouts off in a newspaper column which ended up costing them a signing in the last transfer window. It's quite simply everything he'll look to avoid.

It seems that he's telling them to get on with it and commit to building or he'll be open to offers. West ham and Everton for example.

You can interpret what he said how you like. I personally don’t think he was threatening to leave. Maybe he was giving those involved a quiet wake up call, that’s if it is needed.

We will probably/hopefully hear more of that interview later, which will give us a better idea.

But Eddie talking about the importance now of new infrastructure might bring more news on what is proposed/happening out of Dean Court.

The club really do need to pull their finger out regarding this new stadium. If Howe is subtly complaining about it in public (something he rarely does) then you know it's a problem.

Eddie is far too cute to complain about his employers in public.
It sounds more like to me that he knows that it is going to happen and that an announcement from the Club is imminent.

"It's tough to recruit players when we're playing in the stadium that we are," Howe said. "The training ground, as beautiful as it is, the size, the lack of space - again that's a difficulty for us.

"We've focused a lot on the team and on what you see out on the pitch, but I think the infrastructure of the club is a must.

"That will serve us so well in 10, 15, 20, 30 years and that's what I really believe the club must focus on."

...one would have to speculate that some news regarding the new stadium is in the offing, either good or otherwise, after all it is season ticket renewal time!

It could also be interpreted as don't expect huge amounts of money to be spent in the transfer window, as money needs to be used towards training complex and stadium.

I think this is positive news coming up, rather than any toy throwing. Or at worst, a nudge to the local powers that be to get things confirmed so the club can announce it all.
