Jefferson Lerma

Loved the bit that "Lerma took AFC Bournemouth onto win their first Premier League title in the 2018/19 season, as well as a FA Cup runners up medal after losing 5-4 to surprise winners Renford Rejects. "

Wikileaks !!!!!!!!!!

“An unsung hero at Levante this season. Excellent at breaking up play in middle, and moves the ball on. A hardman whose stamina and strength in midfield could create the base for the likes of James.” Jonas Giaever, latin american journalist

Having read around, he sounds like exactly what we need (and plenty of other teams). Got to happen before the World Cup in case he has a stormer.

This is a better site for player values. That TransferMarkt site is a laughing stock when it comes to value. Its usually the same as what he was last transferred for

Solent are saying we are in discussions with Levante but not made a formal bid yet. As we all know by now, no transfers are all in guaranteed cash. The discussions might be something on the lines of £9m upfront and further incentives up to £16m should we make Europe.

Spanish release clauses are always the equivalent of outstanding contract value, so it's not really as relevant. So if he was on 10k a week and had a year left, the release clause would be half mill. Looks like they recently extended his contract and increased his fee. It's a Spanish labour law thing, and whilst it means that if we paid 54million, they couldn't keep him, but they might well accept a fee if the player wants to go and they see a decent return

Quick, better sell Begovic, Boruc, Ake, B Smith, Surman, Arter, Fraser, King, Mousset and probably more.

Apparently.

You do talk utter tosh sometimes.

I didn't think that was the case. I thought Spanish contract law meant that sport contracts of employment have a buyout price meaning that no one is locked into a contract by an employer if a prospective employer or the individual is happy to buy it out before its expiry. I have never known any Spanish player's release clause to deteriorate over time - surely every big club in England, Spain, Germany and Italy would be in for Griezman right now given his 12 months remaining. In fact, the release fee can increase should, for example, a forwards goal tally increase. Neymar's release clause grew throughout his time at Barcelona without new contracts being signed. I thought it was calculated based upon potential ability or value to the club. If, at the start of the contract, Levante made a calculation that he would light up La Liga and he did, that would be their demand from a larger club to release him.

Regardless, I don't really remember him from the season just passed. But then I wasn't looking out for him. Levante are a very similar sized club to us and while they finished fourth from bottom last season, they were comfortably safe as the bottom three were dreadful.

Would he be our first Uruguayan player?
