Harry Arter

If the loan proceeds, then it’s a very bad deal for us. He will be a year older and thus his transfer value, currently C£10m, could be greatly reduced.

Could also go up if he has a good season rather than sit on our bench

They may even have a compulsory purchase if they stay up (assuming he does end up at Cardiff) similar to Afobe with Wolves if they got promoted.

I know...very odd. I bet he doesn’t want to go to a club he feels may go down (with a contracted wage reduction)but is happy to do a loan.

Very odd as well to strengthen a relegation rival.

PL loans cost a lot. Reports were Chelsea were looking for over £10 million in just loan fees for some of their players.

Pulling numbers out of the air, surely we'd be getting in a couple of million in fees from Cardiff?

Sky sources: Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter will join Cardiff City on a season long loan.

Watford were in for him too, but the player has chosen Cardiff."

Turned down Watford. Good lad. He does have standards you know.

Very odd bit of business, unless EH thinks he still has a future here and needs him to get game time at the top level, I don't think he can be recalled in January if it's a season long loan?

My concern with this arrangement other than helping a rival is it's a season long loan.

If come January we are short of fit or in form players we may well need to go into the transfer market where had it been a loan until Jan we could of recalled him & not need to bed a new player in.

Change your language please Neil - we are NOT relegation rivals - we're better than that. We need to aim higher!

I hope we're getting a loan fee of at least £3m for this, I still don't think it makes sense strengthening a rival.

How much are that ungrateful nonce club Hibs giving us in a loan fee for Hyndman? I imagine they could only stretch to £50k and it's hardly benefiting him playing Sunday League football. Let's hope they get through to the group stages of EL so he get's 6 good games. ;)

You are probably right but I still think we are one of those teams whose first priority is to stay up. We are only ever a bad run of injuries to key personnel away from a relegation fight. We have been relatively lucky on this front (first season aside).

Ake had a recall clause with us; Wilshere didn't. Many Arsenal fans were livid with Wenger midway through the season as they wanted Wilshere back.
