Wilson in the England Squad.

typical callum game - ran the channels well, not clinical, battled the centre backs all night, scored near post, cheated, worked very hard. a very consistent player, managers dream.

I thought the front 4 worked really well interchanging. Difficult to pick up with players drifting from one position to the next. Wilson kept that back 4 busy all night and lead the line well. Pleased for wilson, pleased for Wazza. Most enjoyable friendly I've watched for a long long time.

He had a good game. I'm confused by some of the comments in this thread. He ran the channels well and held the ball up well too. It was just his finishing that let him down, until his goal went in of course. Truly baffling that people thought he was poor.
Exactly. We know he often needs more than one chance to actually score. He’s not the most clinical of finishers more often than not. He has missed those for us too. I didn’t think he played at all worse than he does for us. He seemed to have no nerves whatsoever on his England senior debut and finally, as we know he can, he put one of his chances away. It was the Callum we know and love, just this time for England !!
