Harry Arter

The Floodlit games were vastly different....Newcastle in the League Cup 64ish and Cardiff before that...Rocking!
One thing you can definitely say about Dean Court old and new is that games under the lights always have a far better atmosphere.
One from recent times - the 2-1 win over WBA in the League Cup - absolutely bouncing that night , Gosling mentioned it in the cup programme last round ...
One from the old days - the Autoglass Windscreens Southern Final 2nd leg v Walsall back in 98 - a defeat 2-3 with Frank Rolling popping up with a last minute goal to send us through 4-3 on aggregate- unbelievable atmosphere that night .

"Arter was an improbable candidate to bring them level, but twice he was inches away from doing so - once with a powerful half-volley which hit the post and again with a sweetly struck volley which whistled just wide.
It was fitting that the attack dog of the Cardiff midfield was a key part of the equaliser, looping the ball back into the penalty area before it made its way to Gunnarsson"

The drummer in Ted Mac leads the way God bless him.

Without that it would be a morgue. I always sing and aim to leave a match sounding like Rod Stewart after gargling a shattered pint pot, but nowadays I can often be one of very few.

Many of our supporters seem out of place, almost embarrassed to be seen displaying passion. Has someone been slipping bromide into the drinking water in West Dorset?
I sat in the Ted stand last Sunday, At the start of the game the noise in the ground was great. After **************** scored it all went quite except the **************** fans who started up. Second half all I heard was the **************** fans and the right hand side of the Ted Mac with the drummer otherwise it was quite. Both side stands were quite and a portion of the other end chanted something once or twice.
It seemed like everybody couldn't wait to leave.

I was happy to see just how poor both teams were.

Compared to that, AFCB are currently on another planet.

Even when we play badly.
...another planet maybe?...but the fight that Cardiff showed was admirable, I would like a bit of that from us sometimes...today would be a good start!!

Eddie on Harry Arter wanting to join Cardiff.

Asked for his thoughts on Arter’s comments ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Manchester City (3pm), Howe said: “It’s a very difficult one to comment on from my perspective.

Harry’s at Cardiff for the season, he no doubt feels a Cardiff player and has had to ingrain himself into their way of doing things for this season.

“We value him greatly from our side – let’s see what happens at the end of the season.”

Sidcup-born Arter signed a four-year contract at Vitality Stadium in July 2017.

Oh my, I can't agree with that last part.
When we play badly, we can get thrashed by anybody from League 2.
And often do, in cup games.

But these days that tends to be with a hotch potch of reserves and development squad players who aren’t used to playing as a cohesive unit together.

When you’re playing your first team and losing to sides in non league in the cups, then it’s an issue.

When the 1st team play badly they're just not doing the nice things we try and do very well.
We don't stop trying to do nice things.

I trust even if we get done by 6 today, we don't start lumping the ball up field or start clattering their players.

Cardiff and Wolves served up worse than Championship fodder last night; ugly football played badly.

Heard he has said he'd like to stay at Cardiff IF they stay up so i'm presuming he doesn't fancy another stint in the Championship .....but i can't think of another PL club he could go to...:hmmm:....unless he gets a move to one of the promoted teams but his insistence on living in London does rather hinder the chances of that happening.
He may have to come back to us.
