Jack Simpson

Simpson is Ready......you don't need to know Everything about football....we know he is a footballer ffs..it's about instinct and common sense! I know only a tiny amount about the technical aspects of football but loads of experience watching it and observing all the bulls#t that surrounds it....I had many conversations with Ian Gibson (who played half a season for Boscombe) when we caddied for him at Xchurch Golf course. and drank with him in the Fox!..he wasn't too good at golf but told good stories about the goings on under Bond and Jimmy Hill at Cov.

But onto today's football;

Mourihno is a manager who did Ok at Porto
since then he has had Loads a MONEY!!! And wasted much of it!

Mourihno has managed a few top clubs.....
NOT this season!
put him in charge of Varzim in the Portugal Secunda Div weeth no budget or in charge of Sporting Khalsa in ze English Midland Premier League with no budget and see if he could get them above Coventry Sphinx...me doubt it!
We get carried away with all this bulls##it about these foreign managers......look at the relativity aspects! They are given Big Money!
But the game is not a Tight Science is it?

Some silly buggers on forums get attached too rigidly to the technical stuff...ok it's a big part of it...but the psychology part is of equal importance...desire and application!
On a Saturday afternoon it's 22 men chasing plastic into a space between three posts.....anything goes!
None of this needs to go on the back of a postage stamp...it's Common Dog F##k!( CDF)
CDF says that Simpson is Ready and Good Enough for A decent run in the side! If the Team got relegated the Team would earn it! But that won't happen this season regardless of Simpson racking up a few appearances!

You know, TM, I agree with you that that's probably what he thinks, but he is dead wrong. I've been here for about a year, and it has been a great place for me to ask questions, exchange ideas (mostly non-football, because I am still a relative newbie to the sport), find out news about the team, enjoy the Never Ending Jukebox, on and on. Everyone has been great to me, and even if I am offside and get called for it, it is done in a friendly way. And, even in cases where exchanges get heated (or someone goes off on a rant), there still seems to be a common bond - UTC. I'll bet he would still get a lot of reaction, of a positive nature, if he would just show that he wanted to be part of the spirit of the forum. It's not about opinions of reality vs. rose coloured glasses - it's about attitude.

That's ridiculous...your reports and information are essential to some of us.....I agree with the majority of your posts...if it's out of range of my knowledge I give it the benefit of the doubt...if I totally disagreed..mention it and move on....why do people get so upset?
 
Honestly I find it strange that in nearly every thread someone is moaning about this Smiinho character. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Personally I think he's a genius and has all of you wrapped around his little finger. Why do you all feed the troll?

Take your point bill and I haven’t ignored anyone before but 2 years on the echo site did for me. Just end up annoyed with lots of antagonistic posts and see can see the pattern already.
 
I know we won't get the stats, but I bet if we mapped use of ignore button against time we'll see an exponential curve over the last week or two

Don't know about ignored, but Minty has only posted 250 odd posts and has over 50 likes.
Compared with many 'newbies' on here that's a good hit rate.

That's a good idea, let's have a league table of highest to lowest percentage likes. By the way Ken, I see you are currently running way below 10%.......

I owned a BMW for 12 days. The relevance as to what vehicle one drives is somewhat puzzling and why you are making an issue of it is also puzzling apart from trying to cause confrontation for no reason. However, with this in mind, I now reach the conclusion that the inner material of your skull has the consistancy akin to that of re-inforced concrete.

If you noticed..A few days ago I had him really riled..a bit of temper coming out..he has a breaking point i'm sure...but I decided to lay off him because I actually believe he has some mental condition ..which is of concern ..the signs are there. I could be wrong but the repetitive nature of his posts etc. Or.....is it just an Act which is finely honed and gives him great pleasure...if so he will be laughing at this! I can handle that..it's not a huge problem is it.....just naturally Ignore him...you don't need buttons!
 
Has smhinto reached his peak ?

I noted with considerable interest, yet also a little apprehension, the remark by Mr. Ghost that the levels of approbation accorded to Mr. Smhinto greatly exceed those attained by such well-established and highly-esteemed posters such as Mr. Dawson, Mr. Derek or indeed Mr. Ghost.

But after due consideration, it is my contention that this is but a temporary phenomenon : after an initial spurt of intense activity, Mr. Smhinto will be unable to sustain this level of performance beyond a short period of time.

In all probability, given the likelihood of injury and consequent loss of form over the demanding winter schedule, this current spike in approval for Mr. Smhinto and his contributions will in all probability subside and his currently inflated reputation will soon resume a more natural state.

In colloquial English, therefore, it is a flash in the pan.
