Jack Simpson

Has smhinto reached his peak ?

I noted with considerable interest, yet also a little apprehension, the remark by Mr. Ghost that the levels of approbation accorded to Mr. Smhinto greatly exceed those attained by such well-established and respected posters such as Mr. Dawson, Mr. Derek or indeed Mr. Ghost.

But after due consideration, it is my contention that this is but a temporary phenomenon : after an initial period of intense activity, Mr. Smhinto will be unable to sustain this level of performance beyond a short period of time.

In all probability, given the likelihood of injury and consequent loss of form over the demanding winter schedule, this current spike in approval for Mr. Smhinto and his contributions will in all probability subside and his currently inflated reputation will soon resume a more natural state.

In colloquial English, therefore, it is a flash in the pan.

No - misery loves company!

Keep it real ! Reality rules !

The relevance Steven. Is that you lied.
The question is why?
The answer I expect is that you talk a load of bull most of the time and forget what you've posted before.
Good Afternoon. Have a nice day.

Back to the topic in hand, with Francis out injured could we see Cook at RB tomorrow if we play 4-4-2 which would open up a space for Mings or Simpson in the centre?

Jack has to play tomorrow....he must be on a bit of a high after getting praise in some of the papers and if he reads any of the reports on here! If we don't get promising players like him involved now..there is something very wrong......I think Eddie will realise now that he needs to throw off some of his cautious leanings...we are too good to be involved in the yearly scrap at the bottom so....what is there to lose!

You would think that his David Brooks experience will have shown Eddie that sometimes he can be too protective of the youngsters. Give them the opportunity and they might just surprise you. Obviously they shouldn't play every game, you have to manage their game time until you're sure that they can fully cope mentally and physically. No reason they can't be valuable squad players in the meantime though ! Eddie continues to learn and evolve. I think he will continue to loosen the shackles of the fringe players little by little.

Boruc/Begovic
Cook--Simpson--Mings
Ibe - Brooks - Lerma - Ake - Daniels/Rico
Fraser - Wilson

Not sure I'd be confident enough to have Simpson and Mings together in a back 3 yet. Thought Daniels did fine there against Chelsea so why not vs Brighton. I'd swap Fraser for Ibe (Ibe #10) but otherwise I'd be pretty happy with that lineup.

Simpson. I feel, is not quite ready for the pace, rigours and intensity of the Premier League. He has only had experience in the u21's and the odd League Cup game, unlike Brooks who had experience in the Championship. Young players are naturally inconsistant, whilst Simpson had a good game at Chelsea, he could may well have nightmare against Brighton. With the sitation we are in we need as much experience on the field tomorrow in order to get the points. We already have A.Smith, Gosling, L.Cook and now Francis all out. We cannot weaken the team any further.

Hahaha!

Look, Jack if you’re reading this, we think you’re great, you have a bright future ahead of you, keep on keeping on!

How must poor Jack feel? He finally sees a thread for him, sees four pages, so he opens it up all excited finds us lot bickering and hardly discussing him. Answer a question if you want, point out a discrepancy, but at least try to advance the discussion

Do we need two holding midfielders against Brighton?

Seems a little conservative
Perhaps.
But I think with attacking wingbacks, Brooks as a 10, and Fraser and Wilson running at them, we'd have more than enough bite.
You can't attack if the other team keeps penetrating the midfield.

Fair point, but you can't really support the attack with those two, and if they're sitting deep that could invite pressure back on us faster. It's a game of opinions though. Personally I don't see much point in playing Ake in midfield unless we need to. That said though I think after the other nights performance Jack has put himself above Mings in the CB pecking order, at least for the moment

If you noticed..A few days ago I had him really riled..a bit of temper coming out..he has a breaking point i'm sure...but I decided to lay off him because I actually believe he has some mental condition ..which is of concern ..the signs are there. I could be wrong but the repetitive nature of his posts etc. Or.....is it just an Act which is finely honed and gives him great pleasure...if so he will be laughing at this! I can handle that..it's not a huge problem is it.....just naturally Ignore him...you don't need buttons!

You are made of stronger stuff than me, though, Bill!

In 2018 I deleted both Facebook and twitter and I don’t miss them: feel less angry as a result.
