I wouldn't worry about the money too much. If he does the job he does the job. People get far too caught up with prices. It's the modern game, it happens. A perfect example is Van Dijk. All people did was bang on about his price tag, now he's regarded as the best CB in the world by alot of people. Now all of a sudden he was a bargain. Fickle much?Folk claiming intial 19 Million for Solanke, just ridiculous. I'd love the day we can sign a kid for a couple of million never play him then sell him for a sixfold profit, madness
NSC is going to go full blown nuclear if we end up signing their transfer target for a reported 19m
He was reportedly 3-4 million after a tribunal, he would of cost more than that if a normal transfer fee was agreed. Not so much the money itself more the fact that 3 becomes 19 in 18 months just because Liverpool are a big team. Like I said about Djilibodji, we thought 2 million was a rip off, he never played for Chelsea yet a year later got 8 million for him. Somehow the club you're buying from can magically add value. Amongst this when Callum was being toutued by papers last month they were saying 30million
Plus the player is as valuable as to what the seller sees relevant. If the club don't need to sell (in the words of the Godfather) then you need to make an offer that they can't refuse. Or outbid any rival clubs. If they are desperate to sell for whatever reason then that drops the value, along with players wanting out, coming to the end of a contract or if no other club s are interested. It's not just the players value that is of interest, but how the selling club values the situation. Not so much the money itself more the fact that 3 becomes 19 in 18 months just because Liverpool are a big team. Its Saints feeding Liverpool, liverpool feeding us...so after Ibe...Smith..Clyne and Solanke are Liverpool our feeder club or are we just money laundering with them?
I was seen on a train to London once too.
