Callum Wilson

If we sell Callum we'd surely want another quality striker in first.

Plus, if we're not building a stadium, we'd definitely want at least another defender out of that 50m. Possibly even a decent CM, too.

I'd be happy with 50m if he did go, though would still prefer he stayed. That said, Josh King can do it up front so I'd look forward to him getting back to his 16 goals in a slightly crap team kind of form again.

Problem with making a big sale is that afterward, everybody jacks up their price when selling to you. Barcelona's move for Coutinho after selling Neymar being the biggest example (and probably ripoff).
If we sell Wilson for 50m, whoever we try to buy to replace him will magically be valued at close to 50m.

Yes. See when Liverpool sold Torres to Chelsea and then had to pay £36M for Andy Carroll. And that was back when £36M was ridiculous amounts of money rather than what you pay for a back up kit man.

...to be honest I hope that Coventry would get a cut, I remember our days of needing this sort of income in the bad old days....although I think with the likes of Jamie Redknapp and Wade Elliott we probably got shafted!

Let's just quote them 125m.
It'll get their noses off our club and it's good for a headline.
Wouldn't hurt Callum's confidence either!

50 million is silly money really. Callum can go missing at times and he won’t get the love over there that he does here.

Get Gabbiadini off the scummers cheap before they go down and it might work in our favour.

Such a tough decision for Eddie to make, it could potentially send us down!!

Gabbiadini is off to Sampdoria.

In the case where it was €50m guaranteed, I think the player is meant to get 10%. Is that still the case? If so, that would be €45m to the club but if the Coventry sell-on is 15% that takes us down to €37.5m. Deducting the €19m cost of his replacement who we signed in advance leaves us €18.5m.

I think the training complex budget was about €15m so just enough to build a new training complex with some extra on top for when it goes over budget.

Gabbiadini? He is shocking.

Listening to Peter Crouch's podcast on transfers I'm not sure they get 10%, he was asked question about whether players try to inflate their transfer fees and he said only a few with egos. If it was financialy beneficial to them I'm sure he would have said yes

I'd take 50 mil, that's enough for a decent CB,CM and a gamble on a youngster.
Honestly I'll still be surprised if Chelsea pay 50 mil for him, can't see Callum as a good top 6 striker tbh and he's nearly 27 so not exactly young anymore.

I doubt the Coventry sell on is anything like 15%. They only got a reported £25,000 for his England cap. The Coventry Telegraph is saying there is a sell on clause but they haven’t been able to quote Coventry City (even off the record along the lines of “we understand ..”) to say how much it is. If the sell on clause was generous Coventry City would be nowhere near as coy about it.

Re using any profit to fund the training centre, remember the transfer will probably be paid in tranches over the course of the contract and not an up front lump sum. That said, the training complex could be built in two or three phases over several years.

Tough one for Eddie as no doubt he wants to keep Callum but given how much time he invests in his players I am sure he wouldn’t want to block a dream move for Wilson.

I would take £50m though but most of this would go if we have bought Solanke, give Coventry a cut and imho we would need to get another striker in as we would be over reliant on king.
