Peak 6

I wonder who will be the 1st to apologise?

Hang about a minute you, I'll ignore the stopped clock possibility, I won't even ask when you decided that maybe Peak 6 weren't good for the club, nor who it is that slated you for saying so, and just mention that I said exactly this last week in the change at the top poll

At least someone's finally listening to me

If it is the one I am thinking of it is in favour of the previous owners. They would be entitled to the profits if the land were to be sold on for housing.

Would make some sense as housing would be far more profitable use of that land, and its value to purchase off the golf club for that purpose would have been much higher. That does assume that planning permission for housing was possible, that would be hard due to the flooding issues. But as a type of security against someone buying the land for one purpose at a lower value, and then getting permission for housing and making a bomb off that, it would make some sense.

I won't repeat the whole post here, but in the thread "Who is Max Demin" I posted in response to a link to a 2015 Sky Sports article about Max which included a very interesting quote from Eddie.

Basically the way he described Max and his plans for the club sounded nothing like a man who would want to put infrastructure investment on hold and solely invest in the squad. It sounds like Max always, from day one, wanted to drive the club forward, both on and off the pitch.
I now think Max was being held back by the reluctance of the Peak6 board members, hence the Summer statement and Eddie's very measured response to it. Since then I would imagine negotiations have been ongoing to buy Peak6 out in order for Max to be in a position to get his plans for the club back on track again.

It now looks to me as if buying out Peak6's share is all about CONTROL of the football club and it's future. We know that Max knows the importance of Eddie to all future plans and I suspect that he was being frustrated by Peak6's extreme reluctance to take risks and feared that it could lead to Eddie becoming disillusioned. If there is one thing Max cannot afford, it is for Eddie to lose faith in him and go somewhere else where he feels he will get more backing.

I think Max knew that he had to do something to reassure Eddie that he still had big plans for the club ( including infrastructure ) and this is a big statement to that effect.

We've done well under Max so far and I can't see any negatives to him having total control of "his" football club once more. He has proven time and again that he actually CARES about the club and the project as a whole. I think this is all good news and I believe Eddie will be a lot happier now too !

You mock.

The FACT was out there 12th July 2018.
FACT!
Why does it even matter? You seem to have some real obsession with being able to say I told you so. Congratulations... you told us so. Now let's move on shall we and wait and see what this actually means for this club.

Fiar play to Al, he predicted the ground wasn’t going to happen and the yanks wanted out. I will be delighted and apologise unreservedly if the last, big one comes off and max can take the club on to the next level. Eddie must surely of known that something was going on in the background.

I am not really sure where Al should get loads of credit for his amazing insight , basically my guess is he knows someone at the club or closely connected to the club who drops him snippets of info, Al then takes great pleasure by teasing us all into a frenzy by releasing this info. We all fall for it and its great fun. Sure some of it turns out to be true but it's no big deal or Sherlock Holmes stuff.
I and a few others used to get similar stuff when involved with the ST e.g. I had it on very good authority that EH was definitely coming back a good 24 hours before the media got all over it. I could (and prob should) have taken the 33-1 bookies odds at the time !!!
Anyway its all good fun and yes Al called this one right - now can he tell us what happens next cos we ALL want to know.:utc::clap:

In all seriousness, I am sure we are all hoping this will be the kick start of the training complex, and hopefully a new initiative for the new stadium.

I am 100% sure that yesterday's news is the start of an even rosier future.

If Max sells, so be it, but I think he has earnt more than enough kudos from the fans, that whoever he does sell to eventually, it will only be to the right people.

I hope he stays.

How can you be 100% sure it's a positive if you don't know if he's selling or not? Genuine question not a dig.

I haven't seen you so positive since Peak6 rocked up and you showed us the Hungarian stadium pics ;)

For stability I hope nothing changes behind the scenes now he has full control again.

I haven't been this positive since Sport-6 rocked up. Hopefully if he does sell it will be to someone who is an international sports personality who has football in their blood with over four years in the game and who is not afraid to think outside the box when it comes to the business of business.

I am sure you are a decent bloke SDD, but all you do is question after question.

The reason I am 100% sure.

Peak 6 have been a drag the past year. No further investment, and then demanding their money back, with interest for sure.

When you have a vote on something and 25% is holding you back, friction will occur.

That has now been removed.

If you are 100% in charge of a business it's a damn site easier to run than consulting with partners.

It was also a positive post. If I had posted something negative about the deal, the world and his friend would have been on my case.

I do have one negative on the whole deal and that is a certain person remains, but that is a personal thought,

What's wrong with questions? ;)

Fair enough, hopefully we move onwards to bigger and better things. I'm very much in the believe it when I see it camp personally - having said that I'm not sure I believe everything I've seen over the past few years.

Fair enough Al, but only 25% shouldn't hold the club back on any vote/decisions.

I guess if it's regarding a fairly significant issue for the organisation that requires the input of some funding, the 75% shareholder can override the decision and go ahead. But the 75% shareholder might not be happy to front up 100% of the cost? He'd prefer it if the 25% parter was happy to agree and accept their 25% burden of the cost?

Guess thinking aloud of course, cos I've no idea.

25% is a good stake, especially when you have a large loan to use as a bargaining tool.

I am not saying they were.....
"I can see clearly now the rain has gone". My tune of the day.
