Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth

People mentioned Cardiff having the extra day to prepare....this time we've got two extra days! Liverpool have West Ham to wear them down a bit tomorrow!

Don't see it Billy. Think Charlie will come back in and Smudger will move to the right.

I can see this being an option, but seeing how we lined up at city with 3 in the centre and 2 wingbacks we could potentially still see Mepham and take Solanke off from the top and play King solo.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see what Mepham can do. I thought Eddie was quoted as saying that he wasn't fit enough for starting yet.

From my point of view he has to play Mepham!

OTHERWISE WHAT IS THE POINT OF SIGNING HIM ....a Defender...(we have Defensive Problems) and after the never-ending Hoo-ha on this forum about Mepham over the past few months...I'm thinking hmmm yeh.....WE WANT to SEE him PLAY!

OK - but who plays in midfield? Surman and Gozza again? Hope to be proved wrong but without Brooks this looks like trouble. How about Mepham at CB and - just for once - moving Ake into midfield?

Having failed to get anything at Cardiff we don’t want to return to the bad habits of shipping three and fours. Only four teams have conceded more than us - and they’re in the four bottom places. Our midfield without Brooks is flaky - time to try something different now we have Mepham to bolster central defence.

It's a tricky run of games, the next four. I am quite OK with EH mixing up the line-up. To me, if we really want to get a top 10 finish with about 50 points, we might as well find out in February what we have to get us into March, April, May. Gonna be an interesting three months, which we can observe with vested interest but no worry. Looking forward to the lows and highs.

May aswell rotate get Mepham in and Lys upfront, either way it will be a 9th defeat on the trot away from home with just 3 goals scored in those 9 matches. Just hope the bottom 3 keep losing because otherwise after we've played Liverpool, Arsenal and City in the next 4 games we will be looking over our shoulder. Could've been so different if the players actually bothered in the away games this season and we could've had a European football at Dean Court.

...maybe :

Boruc

Mepham
Cook
Ake

Smith and Daniels as wing backs

Lerma
Gosling
Surman

Fraser
King

Subs, Begovic/Ibe/Stanislas/Simpson/Mousset/Rico and Solanke

This would be perfect for me however I couldn't see Eddie fielding a midfield three. I'd imagine Gosling coming off for Stanislas

Start The American for crying out loud. There is no way he does much less than what surman and gosling bring to the table.

Can’t imagine Hyndman has the engine of Gosling or the reading of the game that Surman has.

There’s a reason he’s not playing.

I think we will see the back four people said with Daniels and Smith at full backs. I think Gosling will play as a ten...but mainly tracking whoever sits deep for them, with Lerma coming in.King on his own up front with Solanke dropping to the bench.

I also think we will get well beaten (without coming across all Minty)

...all the pressure rests with Liverpool, who can't afford to slip up so not sure that it will be a cakewalk for them, especially if we can sneak an early goal?

Unfortunately without the likes of Clyne, Brooks and Wilson it will be a real tester...but as long as Eddie installs some belief in the players, after Saturday's poor result, we can give it a right go!

tbh...if the team are not up for a visit to Anfield and fully motivated, then they probably never will be!

Picking up on Neil's comments one of the top 6 games with no honest expectations, as with the rest of the 14, but then we did turn over Chelsea as a bonus.

Having abdicated the Echo readers comments for some considerable time because of the Lincoln influence I thought I would read them this morning. Low and behold Cherrybright's doom and gloom is still on there. Sorry Echo I won't bother again. No ignore facility.
