Bartłomiej Drągowski

Fans' Favourite
Just seen a rumour we're in for him. Upset fans 'up the road' as they're supposedly sorting out personal terms. This would make badkeeper happy, I recall him being mentioned by him a couple of years ago, he's a bit older now, but no idea whether he's fulfilled the potential seen by badkeeper

Given we’ve been linked with him in the past and known to be looking for a keeper, it’s a very easy link to make for a lazy journalist.

That said if we did sign him, one more year of Boruc acting as his mentor would work well for everyone.

Just think of the additional letters income for the club shop.....we'd be millionaires....oh hang on though, i forgot......

This year he has been phenomenal for Empoli, particularly towards the end of the season. They nearly stayed up with an amazing run towards the end of the season, partly thanks to Dragowski's keeping. Broke the Serie A record for the most saves and a clean sheet in a single game, I believe.

He's a great shotstopper, but remains to be seen whether he would be good enough in the air to play in England.

Not really sure aerial ability is really that important these days. I’d hardly call that a strength or Begovic or Boruc but we hardly let any goals in from set plays last season. We really need a keeper good with his feet given the way we play. Something we’ve never really had but I’m sure Eddie desires.

I see some folk saying we have two young keepers, but Travers only has two games of professional men's football, and a broken thumb. Ramsdale has two half seasons in a much lower level. Bart has two and a half seasons as first choice in the top flight of the nation he's playing. I think in an ideal world Aaron and Mark go to lower half Championship clubs for next season, and so next year they are ready to push for number one, no matter who we have in. So that leaves us with needing either a first or second choice keeper to train with Boruc, whether that's Butland or Bart or someone else I don't know, but if we have that much faith in Aaron/Mark then someone with some resale value would be ideal

Saints were believed to be close to signing the stopper for £8.8million, but the report claims Cherries are now rivalling their south coast neighbours with a deal that could reach £13.3million.

Italian outfit Roma are also believed to be interested in Dragowski after his impressive displays in Serie A.

The Pole made a record-breaking 17 saves in a single game against Atalanta in 0-0 draw in April, more than any other goalkeeper has managed before in Italy's top flight since data was first recorded by Opta 15 years ago.

Technically it's Bartłomiej Drągowski, but we don;t have the same alphabet, so I typed it more phonetically to try to make it easier for folk. Though I suppose in that case I could have also gone Bart-wom-yeah Drong-govski
We would have to shorten name like Arsenal and Chelsea keepers to Drago
