Can't help but feel worried....

I'm afraid although I don't want to be admitting this and always try and stay positive about the season ahead but I can't help but feel slightly worried about our lack of movement in this window.

I know Eddie is a big believer in improving every season, but has anything really happened which indicates that next seasons position/points total will be improved on?

We still have, in my opinion, the same dead wood in the team (Ibe, Mousett, Surman etc) and the names we have been linked with that looked exciting prospects (eg. David Turnbull & Jack Clarke) have all seem to accepted or about to accept offers from elsewhere despite them being typical Eddie signings and not a bank breaker. The uncertainty of Wilson, Brooks and Fraser I hope doesn't unsettle the team and have a negative impact. From an outsiders view, I could be wrong, but seems that Fraser doesn't want to be here.

Apologies for such a negative post and I really hope everything i've said is wrong but I just feel lack of movement in or out may just keep us around the sort of area we don't want to be in.

Agree with the above. No point in being glass half empty with so much of the close season remaining. Eddie has plenty of time to get our squad into shape and make signings.

I’m the opposite assuming we keep our best players I’m not worried.

We have Lewis Cook coming back, so a midfield 4 of Fraser, Lerma, Cook, Brooks is great. Top 2 of Wilson and King.

New keeper will join without a doubt, we’ve strengthened in defence, and if Mings does stay that could be great for us to.

Plus it’s another 6 weeks until the window shuts!

I’m sure every season we have a thread about someone worried about a perceived lack of transfer activity. Seems a rather odd thing to worry about when there’s so much time until the season starts

....most clubs will have fans who are feeling a little ‘nervous’ until the window closes....I think I am more worried about losing one or two with all the hyperbole at the moment!

It's too early to worry.

We might lose Ake, Fraser, Wilson god knows who else, given that every day seems to bring a new link to one of our better players. Or we might keep them all. The ups and then downs of last season given, it's still a fact that last season was our most comfortable in the PL to date. And few clubs seem to have strengthened all that much, as yet.

There's no reason right now to worry, over and above any usual level of AFCB pessimism!

Whilst there are areas we clearly need to improve on, whether that be with new signings or existing players regaining their best form, OP is clearly one of life's worriers.

You're assuming that negative things will happen and positive things won't happen... before anything has happened.

premiership, championship, or division oneship is fine by me, as long as there is footy to support. jeff tells us the club is being run well perfectly, so there is nothing to worry about out.

Surman? Dead wood????

Really?

Wow.....

Ibe isn't deadwood either, he's our 4th choice winger. This is something that I really just don't understand about our fan-bases attitude towards Ibe. It's not like he starts every game- he's 4th choice. He sometimes comes on in games and occasionally will start depending on form and squad fitness. Are you people seriously telling me he's not good enough to be a 4th choice squad player?

The same people that tell me on here we should be happy to finish 17th, also seem to want top 6 squad depth

I think the record signing status had a bit of a stigma attached to it - we've had nothing close to a record signing performance from him, despite how valid your point is.
