Girona ( a)

There is a young lad on Twitter [ hoping he is young anyway, or else he has real issues ] - @lermability === totally having a meltdown about the whole pre-season so far. Examples....'Same old season, no improvement or signal of intent from Eddie...signing two Championship players that don't improve the squad...the friendly just showed how bad the summer has been so far...no ambition for the season...."

The kind of 'supporter' I personally am ashamed to have at our club. Getting that upset at a couple of kickabouts, with a mix of first team players and reserves. Absolute state of this kid.

Does my head in. If it was our strongest 11 then he would have a point but it couldn’t have been further from it

It was a bit lethargic and a lot disjointed and rusty. I would like to think the preseason fitness training has them all knackered. Ironically it seemed like the first teamers who looked more worn out.

I noted with interest Ibe seemed to have a point to prove. Many people have commented that he rarely runs at defenders at pace, and when he does, eventually slows to walking pace anyway. Yesterday he ran at players a few times, in the Fraser mould, only Ibe was most definitely more effective. If he plays like that next season he could be one of our best players.

Trouble is, he did that against Sevilla last year.....

From the Pre and Post Match feature on COWS the team and its entourage must have been staying in the Arts Hotel down by the Olympic Marina. Google the Arts Hotel and its rack rate but make sure you are sitting down when you do so.

I remember when Shaun Maher reportedly flew over from Dublin to sign and had his pre match meal at the Tesco in Dorchester. From that to renting the Olympic Stadium and staying at the Arts Hotel in Barcelona. Sweet Mary and Jesus. Sometimes the change in this club beggars belief.

Yet they couldn't give the fans more than a month's notice about the game again. :censor:

Perhaps I'm being a bit dim here but that particular hotel doesn't look that expensive for a prime city centre location . That aside I always thought W was the place to stay.

As for notice on pre season friendlies it was a month and I reckon that's pretty reasonable under the circumstances. Nothing would have changed the flight prices considering the date but if you wanted to go and watch that crap there was really nothing stopping you.

I can vouch that the W is THE place to stay ;-) Until I went there, that is.

If my boss agreed with you I'd probably have been there.
