Sheff Utd - The Verdict.

Yeah they didn't look a threat despite us being horrendous, so it's very much 2 points dropped. If the players bothered to turn up would've been a comfortable win.
 
I’m surprised you all didn’t think Mepham had a good game. From my perspective it looked like he won most of his duels, took his goal well too. Not that it matters: opinions and all.

Ake was constantly having a go at him in the first half for being in the wrong place, his passing was a lottery and he seemed to give up chasing balls that he might have got to. All based on the first half when he was on our side.
 
Should've gone all out urgent attack from the off. 2 shots on target all game. Disgraceful.

God the front 3 were bad today. Fraser in particular I thought was absolutely pants.

Fraser was woeful today. He spends his time looking for free kicks and moaning at the ref if he doesn’t get them. As for that free kick at the end, you just knew he wouldn’t score.

I thought he did alright, I can see where people are coming from when they say he scares them but I think he'll come good.

Spot on Waz we played all pre season with 4 at the back then change it for Sheff Utd for ffs . Today was set up for Solanke as they were so deep he could have been laying balls off to Wilson/King to run on to and he didnt get a look in till it was all over . Eddie you need to be set up the team like you normally do to attack teams and scare the pants off them........... please no more 5 at the back
 
Rico is meek, hes not going to make it in this league.
Mepham got caught out in the first 10 secs of the game with that long ball and throughout the course of the game he looks scared with the ball at his feet and beaten for pace by McGoldrick, not really an Eddie player, looks a liability.
 
No doubt about it , underwhelming ! Not really even the score this game could very much have been a 0-1 banana skin .. United far more up for it then us ... it’s the first game of the season !FFS boys look like your up for it
. Particularly disappointed with the front three ,offered very little . Billings looked good , didn’t thing Mepham was that bad ( the new Francis , going to give me at least one potential heart attack moment per game ) .
That’s about it a game like many last season ... we were just very slow and very meh .
 
But for the wages their on the front 3 should take the blame today along with EH for having 3 CB's and no creativity., they choose when they want to turn up and they didn't fancy it in the wind. That's why no offers for them because they're inconsistent.
