Aaron Ramsdale

Well I have to say I don't know the intricacies of goalkeeper positioning (tbh I don't think that most non-goalkeeper fans or pundits do) but I certainly wouldn't say it needed a goal of the month contender to beat him. It's a straightforward lob for a player like Vardy - he's done it loads of times.
It was nominated for goal of the month on MOTD. Came third I believe

I'm not sure that proves Ramsdale was in the right position. If he's not so far off his line he cuts off that option and can narrow the angle whilst the defenders are chasing him down. As we know Vardy is excellent at lobbing keepers, he's done it enough times.

Like I say I'd need to listen to a goalkeeping expert to see what they reckon as I don't really know the ins and outs of these things.

I would point out though that if this had been his worst mistake he's not doing badly at all. Clean sheet next target.

I thought Ramsdale compared very favourably to Pickford for the Everton match.
Whilst it's still early days, really happy that he's our No 1.
Not sure Artur is going to get many (any?) matches this season.

I think Artur was probably aware of the situation when he signed the extension. Given that he trains with the young lads every day I reckon he'd feel quite proud of their progress in many ways even if it does mean he's on the bench.

This is not based on any actual insight, just a reckon.

I too thought Butland would have been good for us but now am quite happy he didn't. Rambo has been superb, love his confidence. When some people inside and out of the club try and pick holes with Eddie's transfers, they always seem to forget deals like his! Was it £1m??

Clean sheets.....kind of over rated I think anyway. Outside of the top two, how many clubs keep regular clean sheets? Not very many. PL teams are usually quite good at scoring.

I actually think we were in for Butland but only in exchange for Begovic going back to Stoke. Presumably Begovic didn’t want to drop a division so the deal never happened. I’m so pleased it didn’t, I love Rambo and as people are saying even though he punches rather than trying to catch the ball they always go a long way away rather than in the danger area. He’s still only a kid in goalkeeping terms as well.

Something you don't know the "ins and out of " bloody hell, good job I was sat down ! :grinning:

Yep, hands up, I thought getting Butland in would be a good move...

But Rammo has been excellent.

You can see the defence have confidence in him and the way he sometimes celebrates when the ball stays out shows he cares.

We're so lucky to have him, Travers and Boruc.

I argued that getting in butland was a gamble and took some stick for it!! I do think butland would have played better than his form at stoke though - clearly needs prem football for his England career

I reckon Artur is cool with it. He's in the twilight of career and signs contracts on a year by year basis.

Asmir must be fuming but hopefully at himself. He should have been nailed on as our number one but instead he's had a sort of meltdown.
Artur just goes with the flow ...see him in interviews it’s the polish version of “ whatever “
But I mean this in a good way - Happy to be here, has been very good for us and is now happy to be on the bench and helping the younger keepers...

I doubt anyone sees the Azerbaijan top flight as a step above the Championship.

My guess would be a financial one over a footballing one.

It has to be doesn’t it. Stadium looked half empty last photo I saw. Way of life, culture, language etc completely different, must be a bit of money knocking around as an incentive

Rambo has done well and it will be interesting how he and travers go this season..england call up is far fetched at this stage.interesting Ireland had calle up travers before his debut v spurs.
