A Saints view of Bompey!

If you asked most Saints fans say 3 seasons ago if they wanted you to be relegated- you would probably have been met with indifference. I think that view has changed a bit now and in a sense we do sit up and take a bit more notice of our noisy neighbours. Isn’t that what most Bournemouth fans wanted? (or Bompey as we like to call you!). When you beat us at St Mary’s you completely outplayed us and it was us who had resigned ourselves to certain relegation. Bournemouth looked like a slick football team playing with pace and precision- your fans danced and mocked our already fragile fans who were still in shock after the Leicester debacle. How fortunes have changed but I am not here to gloat but to remind you that football can change incredibly quickly. Anyone in the bottom half can still get relegated (and I include Saints in that equation). They say no-one is ever to good to go down- and if I was a Bournemouth fan I would be asking some serious questions? How can a talented squad with a highly regarded young English manager be in this position? football is all about momentum and confidence- there is a long way to go and in our experience of countless basement battles over the years there is always a team who plummets like a lead balloon. Hopefully not us!

I think we've done our plummeting bit, and now we're bobbing along til the season end. I don't know whether we'll finish with our head above or below the water line. At the moment I fear the latter.

I do wonder how we have ended up in this situation, yes

I’m guessing you aren’t keen on Saints Derek?

I don't particularly mind them. They are generally supported by people from the Southampton area, which puts them well above the top six clubs in my view.

I didn't like them in 2010 in League 1 much but in the prem I've no real issue. Still don't care whether their fans like afcb or not. Hope that clears it up for you.

Fair point, whatever happens it’s far more exciting than the other end of the table!
