He's gone

This was the news I was dreading. Like similar posters on here I just hope it was Eddie’s decision. He looked absolutely exhausted at the end of the season. Being a young father myself I just think the job was taking over his life. I really hope he can spend some time with them now and that he wasn’t pushed.

Back in the mists of time myself and one or two other eminent posters (nsm or sjl) wanted Sean Dyche as manager - possibly on the old board.

Eddie has done magnificently but he’s no Sean Dyche who stayed and got his unfashionable club back into the premier and Europe.

Maybe he had a more supportive board or maybe not.

PS Flame away I rarely post these days and am just about done with this, and I’ve got gallstones so it’s really sad but I wish he’d had the backbone to give ita go to get back up.

yours in effing pain in all senses

I agree with everything you've just said London Cherry. That said, at least we went out with a bang and a fight, not some whimpering mess, to remember him fondly.

........... there was a reason the whole ground were singing 'you are embarrassing' at Sean Dyche and his Burnley last season. None of us want to watch that shite

Feel physically sick.Maybe too overreaction to some of you guys but hey!I've had personal experience of 'mutual consent'(plus other colleagues) and believe me there is always more 'mutual consent' on one side than the other.
He'll be back to take us back up.

He did a great job getting the club into the PL and staying there for a few seasons but the fact is that for at least the last 6 months he's had the safest job in the country because he's been unsackable.
That's resulted in a mood of complacency that has filtered through to the players...complacency bordering on arrogance.
I predicted 2 weeks ago that he would go to Bristol City and I still believe that's lined up for him.
Now the exodus of players will really begin.
The fairy tale is over.

Right. For what it's worth this is my take on things. Board want Eddie to stay but want the back room staff gone. Eddie obviously not going to agree so tells the board he's walking. Eddie doesn't tell the players, back room guys or even Jason, which means they are all still employed. It is now the boards job to get rid of them all not Eddie's.

If they wanted him to stay why would they want his staff gone, sorry but that makes no sense, more likely not enough guarantees for this season

Really can't see him taking another job anytime soon, he looked like he needed a break.
Given he didn't resign immediately, suggests he wanted to see what ambition was there for next season, thats the most worrying aspect of this.
Will be telling to see if he does take a break or not. If he moves on immediately clearly our board have failed us. Again.
