Kyle Taylor

Back to Taylor, from what I have seen he has more presence than Kilkenny (who looks lightweight and reminds me of Connor Mahoney). Taylor looks like he has more time and won't get pushed off the ball. Hopefully, they can all get some games and take their chance. If we want evidence of their overall level then Surridge and Travers, with goals and international caps should show us that the group has a track record for the Championship!!

Ive only really seen Taylor in the 45 mins against Brighton but one thing that stood out was the speed at which he’d release his passes. Or lack of it.

The problem is the defenders can tell exactly where the pass is going before he actually makes the pass. Harry Arter is similar but he’s both footed so it’s not quite such a hinderance for him.

Getting very positive reviews from Southend fans. General opinion is that he looks too good for that level. Very good at keeping the ball and keeping play ticking over. Sounds positive.

Comments on today's performance against Exeter:
Taylor 9....what a find, quality on the ball great brain, lower league Grealish
K Taylor 8.5 - Different gravy. Quality touch. Probably our best player.should have gone corner flag at end but I think most in his position would take the shot in that position.
K Taylor - Might well end up the signing of the summer. Absolute class
Taylor 9 - brilliant performance from a player that oozes class. Brilliant first touch and decision making throughout. Excited to see what he can do.

Blimey!

Don't think Taylor will make PL or Champ level so better off letting him go to progress.
Mark made a weird choice and I imagine he will be jobless soon enough unfortunately.

Might aswell let him progress with a L1 loan next season, and if he is still quality, why not give him a chance? He is only 20 isn't he?

He's 21, if you're good enough you're old enough, there are younger players who have had a bigger impact and I know it sounds harsh but he completed bottled it against Brighton in the Cup. I don't think he will make it higher than L1.

Sam Surridge went from a loan in L2 to a loan in the Championship and, after half a season there, our squad.

If we don't go up then I can't see how we'll keep hold of all four 'Premier League' central midfielders. With the second season fall in parachute payments we'll have to move at least one of them on and we'll need a cheap fifth option to fill in, assuming Ofoborh moves up to fourth choice.

If Taylor continues to have a great season in L2 then that could well be him. No need to write him of yet. Plenty of players didn't blossom until later than his current age.

Callum Wilson didn't make an impact at L1 level until he was 21. Looked how that worked out for us.

Good to hear Taylor's playing well there, I hope he keeps it up.

Sam was on loan at Yeovil at 19 scoring goals in L2 and then with Oldham. He has a strong physique at 6'3", he's only a few months older than Taylor but has scored against Man City and Arsenal and made a difference, I still don't think he's a natural finisher but he's got many attributes to make a difference like Fletch did.

Yeah, this sounds really promising. Sometimes all these young players need is a run in a first team to get them going. After years of getting excited by the odd loan here and there from a big club and then being totally underwhelmed and frustrated by how pants they typically turned out to be, it's really satisfying that we are developing young players who are cherished by the supporters of the teams they are being loaned out to!

The point I was making is that some players don't come into themselves until later. Not every player is ready to make an impact at 19-21. Some don't really hit their stride until 22-24.

He's finally got the chance of a solid season of first team football in L2. If he does well it could be the breakthrough for him.

I haven't seen him so I'm only going off reports but it's an encouraging start.

You really can’t judge any player based on a performance in an Eddie Howe cup team.
