Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted we are unbeaten, but my God I thought we were dire tonight given the quality we have at our disposal. The first half was a joke, we clearly thought that we could just turn up and stroll through to three points carried by our Norwegian ‘superstar.’ In the second half we at least competed and fought for our lives but the quality was lacking to say the least, but like I say the intensity required was there. And I know he’s been out some time but playing the full 90 with Josh King tonight was essentially playing with 10 men the whole game, he was that bad. All he contributed was to breaking down our own attacks. The last two games Roro (who’s also short of match action) has contributed more in 5 minutes than King has in 180.

Good teams win 1-0 even when playing shite.

Dire is way over the top. We were poor for the second part of the first half but responded very well after the break. We need to be more clinical but I bet City fans thought it was only a matter of time that we'd score in that second half.
Describing the first half as dire really isn’t over the top, what you can’t forgive is the lack of intensity that we showed in this half of football. If you go full throttle and get outplayed then fair enough, but to just sit back like we did and offer no intensity whatsoever isn’t acceptable given the resources at our disposal.

I thought King's hold up play was excellent in the second half.....not long before he's in top fop.....and he's not going to get there if he doesn't play......Solanke isn't going to fire us to promotion dispite some of the positive things he does.......good management from JT imo.

Solanke won’t fire us to promotion with goals, but he very well could with his clever assists.

We're in a scrap . Agree with waz about the lack of intensity but not ready yet to go all drama queen. Fixtures are coming thick and fast, not pretty but Reading aside no one is steam rollering it and we never had a devine right too anyway what with the changes at the club.

Teams will try and spoil against us and most have so far,the only teams too go at us so far have been QPR and Blackburn.

I wasn't having a go at Solanke....as i said he does some nice things but we need a firing Josh King and the only way to get that is to play him.....not sub him if he looks half a yard off the pace in the first half.....the fact that JT can look at the bigger picture in moments like those is a good sign imo.

We've averaged 11.6th place oppoents so far this season, with 2 cup matches against PL teams. in the mix

For reference
Reading averaged 15th or so, with Colchester and Luton
Watford 12.5th with Oxford and Newport County.

Pretty overjoyed at how Jason has got the team on the ground running. Personally I think it's players underperforming up front at the moment, similar to last year but because they've not bonded yet.

Dire?! Get a grip. The first half wasn’t great but second half we dominated it. Could have scored 2 or 3.

If you spend some time to venture over to the city forum you’ll find comments such as “men against boys” and “the gulf of class was embarrassing”.

Tonight’s result should not be taken lightly, the first half was average but second half we dominated against a promotion rival.

Bring on Derby.
