Dan Gosling

bit of tough nutter spirit that we could do with ourselves, I've seen comparisons made with peak harry arter so I'm all for it
Yeah i've made comments comparing him to Arter.......apart from the Cooke incident he also had a right go at Brooks as he jogged by him in the very early stages of that game.....don't think Brooks had even touched the ball!........he then went on to take the piss out of our midfield for the rest of the game.

Interesting. I wonder if that will have a knock on with the Pearson deal?

Of course, Dan is out of contract in the summer so maybe he thinks a better option will come along then than Forest who are a bit of a basket case.

Or perhaps he'll pick up more wages here in the next 6 months here than he would have done in the first year of his Forest contract...

We're assuming as well that Billing will still be here.

So far we have L.Cook, Billing, Lerma, Gosling, Wilshere (poss) and Pearson (if he signs) that can def play in that central role...

Assuming that Pearson signs and Wilshire is more likely to fill one of the front 3 slots, that is 5 for 3 positions so good depth... Dan is probably more attacking than most as well...

Don’t forget Ritchie is on his way, just doesn’t seem to have a very good SatNav and ends up back where he started. ;)

Gosling and his agent likely fancy that as a free agent in the summer, he can get a better club / contract than what Forest can currently offer.

A bit like the Jack Simpson deal with Cardiff, you do have to question why we would go far down the road with a Nottingham Forest deal for Gosling if he was never interested to begin with.

If he was but not on the terms Forest would offer then fair enough and in isolation I wouldn't think much of it, but alongside the Simpson stuff and Tindall proclaiming he has no involvement in this stuff, it's a bit of an eyebrow-raiser.

Regardless of the rest of the season, he's precisely the type of player we could use in the Cup against Burnley. If he stays, I trust JT won't deep freeze him and will use him in circumstances where Dan can provide added value.

It could be that he is free to speak to other clubs and Forest have shown interest . In the interest of the player surely the agent would say look go and see what they have to say .

in theory he is jobless come the summer

also depends of his family.

Tbh, his response is exactly what managers want to hear from their players... My worry is I just don't see him getting much, if any game time, with the CMs we currently have at the club... In order of preference you have to look at
  1. L.Cook
  2. Lerma
  3. Wilshere (poss)
  4. Pearson
  5. Billing
  6. Gosling
I am making that list out of how they seem to have featured this term... Also I have zero idea how good Pearson is, but he seems to be being raved about so probably deserves the No.4 slot

I don’t doubt that is what it is. It might also be daft not to at least be interested in what is on offer if longer term opportunities here don’t look like they’re on offer.

But why is all of this in the public domain?

If so, doesn't exactly augur well for squad unity if he ends up coming here, does it ?
Hitting

Some players are great to have on your side, but arseholes to play against.

All part of the game, its nothing personal. Just trying to unsettle the opposition, to
get a reaction.

Sounds like the type of character we could do with. Probably a good influence in the changing room.

Yes, I'm sure a "no hard feelings mate, just banter" between him and Cookie when he arrives and all will be forgotten. The team objective is always more important than the individual relationship anyway. They'll move past it.
