Tv games

I was embarrassed to leave the house after our last tv performance, in case any neighbours laughed at me

I was embarrassed to walk to wheelie bins yesterday.

20 odd empty bottles of peroni jangling around probably the reason.

With this pandemic and no football crowds we have been getting live TV coverage home and away, either via Sky plus red button or AFCB Live.

Normally with my ST I attend home games only, but this season has been a bonus I get to see my team play away as well.

Now it would be good when we get back to a normal season with fans, if they could come up with a system like now, where the majority of Cherries fans could see their team play away live or even home for fans who can’t attend for whatever reason.

Would it affect home gates? Surely live football at a ground is better than on TV if you can get a ticket.

:agree:

I bought a whole season's TV coverage for around the cost of attending one match. I haven't missed one single minute of action (!) and I didn't have the discomfort of travelling. But I would still rather be there.

I think the problem is if you allow it for the lower league Saturday 3pm matches to be screened it will have to be allowed for the PL matches.

That's a great slot for advertisers so you can then expect Saturdays on Sky to be

12:30: Wolves v Aston Villa
15:00: Man Utd v Liverpool
17:30: Leicester v West Ham

Basically they'll put the big gun matches in the 3pm slot to stop the slightly more casual fan from switching over.

We know it won't affect those of us who post on here but it will quicken the long, slow killing of the lower league game that the PL are working on.

no chance of crowds in grounds for the foreseeable so the tv companies will push harder for more coverage or threaten to claw back some of their massive expenditure
saturday 3pms will be the norm [peak slot in china and the far east] where they make their biggest bucks
the grass roots game in this country is truly fcuked, and the next steps will be a closed shop, 10 team Elite League ; no-one in china knows what a brentford is

I wouldn’t call 11pm in China a peak slot. I thought the reason Man U and Liverpool had so many lunchtime games was because 8pm in China was a peak slot.

“The FA Cup is shown on the BBC, BT Sport and the FA website, the Cherries third-round tie against Oldham Athletic was shown on BT Sport Extra, as was the fourth round tie against Crawley Town.”

The only live games I could see shown on the FA website was the women’s football.

Plenty of games on the FA website in the earlier rounds.

For Canadian fans, I see that DAZN is showing our next two matches on their schedule. They have really stepped up given the number of matches that AFCBLive is unable to telecast. Costly option to have both, but worth it on snowy housebound days.

So it wasn't such a huge bargain to buy a whole season on AFCB TV when so many matches are unavailable there.
I signed up for AFCB TV live and I am still watching most games on illegal streams due to most of our matches being shown live on TV, how much are Sky and BT paying the club per match ?
I heard it was about 100k to the home team and 10k to the away team.

Championship clubs chosen to host games are awarded £100,000 per match, with Sunday fixtures worth £120,000 and Thursday games earning £140,000.
Clubs playing away from home for those television fixtures receive a fixed fee of £10,000.
On top of that there’s also, The Basic Award stands at £2.3m and the Solidarity Payment is £4.5m.

Not sure there’s a payment for red button games.
