The Players...

You've just trashed your own argument.....read my opening post....JT got All the flak for the players underperforming.....it clearly wasn't all his fault was it?
It was while he was here. Woody is trying to clear the mess up without probably the necessary talent.

It’s quite clear the gulf in quality today .
Though we done ok ish first half but the 2nd goal was such bad timing .
Woody went to take a gamble by adding an extra forward but within minutes we conceded a third .
After that , they were made to look like Brazil.

Quality is too one dimensional. We looked slow in relation to them, much like last year. I would rather have less quality in some positions but more pace. To compound we gave up the hole in front of back back that would exploit that lack of pace when we could have mitigated it with a holding player.

I will weigh in and agree it wasn't ALL his fault.

I could bring in unnecessary pressure from the top, poor playing performances and abject refereeing decisions to make a pointless argument but where is the value in looking for someone to blame. It doesn't make me feel any better.

We have seen the best of teams have poor seasons in the last 12 months. The only thing we need to focus on is improving, and we can't do that if we have a witch hunt after every poor result.

Ever heard the expression, that when you fall off you need to get straight back on. The place that least applies is football because we expect everyone to be punished every time they make a mistake. So we drop Mepham for errors when he has an upside if he improves and then complain when S Cook has a bad game that shows he's past it.

We are where we are, we just need to keep learning and improving, without fear of failure.

Rather than having a bun fight about the managers or the players or the board being the problem , can we not accept that it’s all three ... unproven managers poor at man management (other than Eddie ). Sh*t managerial appointments the board , poor transfers... recruitment , poor attitude and effort ... the players .

I don't know why you're so caught up with that game tbh.......it certainly wouldn't be classed as a demolition to anyone who can see past a score line.....today was a demolition.....the only thing you can say about those two performances is that both scorelines flattered us.
As I've said ....I wanted him as soon as JT was sacked....I made that perfectly clear on here the day that happened .
And where were Barnsley in the league at that point? You must have one helluva crystal ball

similar isn't the same
carry on
That was a definition for disinterested.

Disinterest generally means, among other things, having no stake in the outcome. Which to me sums up our players in the last year and a bit. Not showing an interest is uninterested which to me is not the case as much as a lot of them have a self interest.

Technically you are right, it’s just there are a number of people, myself included, that think the players interest and effort is a result of the poor appointments and staleness that crept into the previous regime and not a stand alone problem. A top boss would sort them out snd have made the right signings to get them to gel, feel better and perform better.

Any suggestions on a top boss Neil ? I think we're all looking for the holy grail. Look at Pearson at Brizzle, Hughton - gone to rats.

I think its easier said than done.

This debacle has absolutely bugger all to do with the manager...not even Wayne Rooney or Frank Lamps could motivate these slack- assed buggers (joke)....they are just not that good...this is the Championship so if they can't crack it or show how they would fare in the PL against a Saints team that lost to little Brighton, they are not going to make any impact for Everton or Newcastle in the bloody PL are they ...irrespective of what the bloody agents tells em !

Danjuma repeatedly stood on the half way line admiring his boots while Redmondaldo ghosted across the turf throughout the game creating and berating.
See the great Joshua King..not even in the blimmin Everton squad today !

I'm just warming up...tucking into my Semi Final Celebration beers now....standby ..I'll be ready for the Elitists now...oh f√cking right I will !

I agree . Personally I think the players are the biggest problem and with the right manager that can be fixed , unfortunately brilliant managers are as rare as hens teeth as has been shown with our last two appointments and the fact that top bosses weren’t banging the the door down applying for the job .
Your view is keep on hiring and firing till we get the right guy ? We’re on our third now, including the greatest manager in our history . .. I’m more of the view ,ship out the wantaways ( recupe what we can )and take it from there
