Arnaut Danjuma

Tell that to some Saints fans.

Listening before the game to the Saints summariser who wasn’t sure about the role Redmond was going to play today.

Then this from Everton game this month.

One player who continued his recent struggles was Redmond, with the attacker guilty of losing possession on far too many occasions as failed to make the most of getting into some dangerous positions. The 26-year-old was moved back to his more natural wide role against Everton having been played up front in recent weeks, but he failed to perform well enough once again.

Redmond tried to make things happen when he got on the ball, but he was guilty of giving away the ball on 22 occasions, while he also failed to put in a single cross or make a single key pass (Sofascore). The 26-year-old needs to show more end product if he is going to be able help the Saints out of their dismal run of form.

That may as be Billy...but when it comes to uz ...down the Rd..he pulls it out !

I don't think Danjuma is the problem. We clearly have defenders who can't defend.
I think the movement from the saints attacking players was excellent and we couldn’t cope . I think this is also another difference between the championship and premier league .

So he's a 95 minute a season grafter then.....mmmm quite an asset.

Matey Redmond did finish on the winnig side innit ? And AND er scored fookin twice ! Fookin twice! against oor ' talented twattin squad !
I fookin loove it when you give my posts what they deserv'...yuuuup!

You can give me ..Farrier ..as much f√cking sh*t as you feel is justified.,.but you know what ?..I'm a happy harry group of human cells...with a far deeper intellect than you seem to heap on me..hey reach for it..I'm ready !

Interested to hear what the opinions of others are on him, as I don’t think I’ve ever felt so personally divided when it comes to one player.
-On the one hand he has that bit of spark and is clearly a very capable match winner at championship level. Scores and assists goals and clearly has ability and can be very effective in certain circumstances.
-On the other hand, he provides next to no defensive cover, often leaving his full back horribly exposed. He also seems to completely go missing when the going gets tough, when he’s given space to operate in he can look like a real player, but when he isn’t afforded that luxury and a full back makes life a little bit uncomfortable for him he all too often seems to disappear. But perhaps most crucially, from what I can see he is quite clearly playing for himself rather than the team, I very strongly get the impression that his own personal stats are more important to him than the teams final league position.

So assuming that we are still in the championship next season and assuming there are ambitions to succeed in the pitch still, what do you do for the benefit of the team and our chances of success? Look to sell for as high a fee as possible and reinvest in the squad? Or hang into him at all costs as he is a match winner on his day? I’m very much of the opinion that in order to get promoted from a this level you need a group of players who are willing to fight for each other and do the ‘dirty’ side of the game first and foremost, so I would somewhat begrudgingly look to move him on. But interested to hear what others think?
I think the same as you, I think he is playing for himself not the team. He wants to go on to bigger & better things. But most managers don't want a none team player, it is after all a team game. His biggest fault is trying to beat every player in front of him, when he has a easy pass giving another player a easier chance. Don't get me wrong on his day he can be great but those days a far between. I am not sure whether he should stay or go. But I think he needs to be told what is expected of him from the manager & captain. Then we will see how good he really is.

What this club is about ..essentially....essentially...is about what happens on the field...of. f√cking play...not ON f√cking PAPER...or in the minds of the Demerai Gray Creamjeans society....or the Manager OUT Illuminati...
No...you get 11 men on the field and they
bleed blood and sweat into the red n black shirts For the Club..if not you f√ck them off..and sign billy goats with big horns and barn doors with arms and legs !

For US to be 'honest'...we can say with reasonable ease...he aint quite Pele or Eusebio....nor Pugh or Kermorgant to be brutally honest.....drop the tw@t ...if he doesn't think he should be in the Championship.....which ironically is about his level!

He’s so much better when he doesn’t have time to think and just runs with the ball, or shoots, which is why he’s got so many goals since he has that instinct.

But his all round play is shocking. Saturday we needed our wingers to track back more than ever and he was barely in the picture most of the time. It’s even worse when he gets it, stands still, cuts in, tackled, walks back

Except he's not playing as a winger....he's on the left of a front 3.....there's a big difference... he has no more responsibility to track back than Solanke.

Wherever he’s playing, I would still like to see some sort of effort to help out the team defensively and not walking about.

Although the same could be said for a lot of our players

If thats the case maybe we should go back to playing 442 or 451 then......really no point in playing an attack minded system like 433 with only one player left up......it doesn't work....it becomes something else completely........i'd rather risk conceding a few goals tbh.....anyway if we do leave our forwards up it stops any threat from our opponents full backs.

I would pay the entrance fee alone to watch players like him bursting forward and creating havoc in the oppositions defence. With a crowd buzzing everytime he picks the ball up that might even give him the desire to track back a bit as well. David Brooks is another on his day that can get bums off seats when he gets the ball but players like that are special. I agree a team needs to be set up to cover such players but let’s not just become a Stoke and park the bus ready for a set piece opportunity.

Defence starts from the front and needs to be a team effort. Watch the Liverpool front 3 score, create and work back for the team.
