Arnaut Danjuma

I think we've all got the Fraser effect, 'We're doomed Mr Mainwaring". If a player says anything that can be read as disaffection as to his current situation then we think he wants out and had given up on us. As far as I'm aware Danjuma said that he wanted EPL football rather than Championship and that he was a Champions League player. I believe he played a couple of games in the CL, hardly qualifies that statement does it? We'll see what he's got to offer over the next few games. I hope he continues to score goals for us.

judging by his opinion of himself, Arnaut would be off in a shot if the chance for PL was dangled in front of him. I would advise the club to sell any player who wants away (for the right price of course) rather than end up in the Fraser...King situation again in future?...in fact at the end of the season the manager should sit them down and find out who is moody about being stuck at AFCB and who actually wants to put in the effort to gain success here!
Problem is our manager doesn't know if he is going to be here next season. The board probably don't know either so how can we expect the players to commit.

Soton and West Ham have also apparently been linked with him in the summer. I'm not sure which I could stomach least between him going to Brighton or Soton.

Looking specifically at Danjuma’s attacking radar, we can see he’s a high volume dribbler. He averages 3.86 progressive runs and 7.54 dribbles per 90 mins, ranking among the best in the league. Furthermore, he engages in 13.66 offensive duels per 90, so not only does he dribble and progress the ball up the pitch, but he also attempts a lot of take-ons and attacking duels.

In regard to his attacking output, he ranks among the top 20% of wingers for non-penalty expected goals (NPxG) and successful attacking actions. He has an expected goal involvement (NPxG & xA) of 0.38 per 90 mins, meaning he should have more than one goal or an assist every three games.

How to turn a football match into an extremely dull statistical analysis!

And if our 'only' effective player...our one man band ..gets injured and out of it... what can we read about then.. can we have Smiths runs, tackles and dribble stats....or someone elses non- penalty expected goal figures ?
..or Begos assist to Ricos assist to Lerma's assist to a Solanke latest goal! It starts at the back...and ends somewhere near the front !

Look ...you put 11 men on the grass....they either score more... the same....or less than the opposition.... and get 3 or 1 or Nil points!

If we get back up..can we just count how much time on the ball we get in the 95 minutes v MC...and just compare it with how much Watford get v Liverpool and just leave it there !

The tricky thing is weighing up the benefits that result from Danjuma's speculative or individualistic play (goals that few other wide men in this league could score), versus the costs that result from his limited tracking back or passing to other players in better positions.

Without split testing the season it's hard to say! He is one of those players who makes it worth the admission fee though...(if we could attend).

Harsh to say we're a one man band. When Danjuma was injured, Stanislas came to the fore in that same wide left role.

Agreed - Stan would step up if on the left and bring in brooks on right

Eleven goals and five assists not good enough? Maybe none of those goals were the winning ones but I think it's a fair total over 27 or so games. He's frustrating for us as fans but probably equally so for the opposition. I'm happy to cut him a bit of slack, his interviews have no effect on any game only his performances.

He has stepped up big style...so someone mentions his transfer fee going up ..great..so WE don't want him here next season in the PL..OK maybe he himself might want to go
...but we really must stop this Tinpot Talk !
