Everton can afford to pay us something to buy him out of his contract !

Let's not have our pants pulled down on this one, he's still our player, although I could understand the desire to have him off the wage bill of course.
But 3 million saved and 2 million on top still means Everton get a top goalie with plenty of PL experience for 2 million. Where else are they going to get that ?We can save reportedly £3million plus letting him leave for free. Sometimes it’s best to not look a gift horse in the mouth.
And what if we say, “2m or no deal.” Everton say “no thanks” and turn around and sign a different keeper. We are left with his crippling wages for another season. It’s a risk we probably can’t afford to take. From reports last Summer, I believe we were desperately trying to offload him from the wage bill but there were no takers. That gives you an idea of just how high his wages are. I’d imagine most viable European sides couldn’t afford him so he’s restricted to Prem interest.
Like I say though, we don’t have a strong bargaining position here. We clearly can’t afford to have him on the wage bill for another season, so haggling for a fee is probably a risk we can’t afford to take.his stock is much higher this summer vs last summer. Champ keeper of the season and very experienced. Shouldn’t be a free transfer.

Decent keeper as shown last season. £5m nothing to Everton so use that money to get in ccv and save on wages
We are Loki g to get another keeper in, that looks obvious to me .We start by giving in on this one and we become a soft target for the vultures. Fee or no deal.
I wouldn't let him go as there's no other better shot stoppers in our price range, doubt he wants to be on the bench either at Everton. Woodman on loan isn't happening and he's not as good anyway and Travers isn't good enough.
