Wow, this has been an incredibly good window. A lot of very exciting new talent on board, and the squad looks very strong now.

We've all had our moans and groans over the years, but today I think we have to say that the recruitment team has done a really good job.

Can't wait for the next game and to see how this season will unfold.

Up The Cherries !

Oh ok thanks, just seen Daily Record story as well saying that he's signed for us, also they comment about how much maligned he was last season.

Got to be happy with today's dealings and also those over the last few weeks. It feels like this has been a transfer window with a purpose and we have intentionally gone after specific players to address any weakness or missing parts with the squad. It makes a pleasant change from the previous scattergun approach where we threw suitcases full of cash at Liverpool for their reserves.

SP left Fulham for AFCB for a reason, and I think Max has backed him to give us a squad that, on paper at least, now looks ridiculously strong for the Championship. Its now up to SP to mould all of the individual parts into an entertaining and winning football team. Exciting times ahead!

Really pleased with the window. It's just felt really well constructed from start to finish. The technical team have got decent value for both the incomings and outgoings.

Wage bill shed of some high earners (Begovic and Rico) and market rates obtained on others (Danjuma and Surridge)

Incomings are a great mix of loaned youth that could become permanent, established pros at this level and a real quality experienced addition in Cahill.

If this was the type of window that was sold to SP by Hughes and Blake, pretty clear to see why he felt comfortable making the move from Fulham.

5.5 from surrudge 're invested on 2 players and danjuma money in the bank.looks good on.paper but how Lowe and Christie perform.will determine if this window was a success

Fair play to the board, they have been criticised a lot in the past but credit where it is due. I said in a thread yesterday that we needed two more signings, a creative midfielder and a striker to compete with Dom. And we got just that, analysing the signings more closely:
-I have no doubt that Christie will be a top tier number eight at this level. He is everything that we needed in that position, he can drive at players, he’s creative (three assists already this season, against a poor side but just check out the pass he produces for Celtic’s fourth goal,) he is good at picking up pockets of space and he can shoot from range. Just to top it all off he is comfortable playing out wide too. And for those who worry about negative reports from Celtic fans about his performances last season, it’s worth bearing in mind that the whole of Celtic was in complete disarray last season, so let’s not judge him on one bad season. They are also naturally quite salty that he rejected a deal to join little old us.
-Lowe is an interesting one and is better than what I expected us to recruit. Swansea fans give mixed reviews about him but it is worth bearing in mind that last season was his first ever playing as an out and out forward, Swansea only played him there due to having nobody else! He has played his entire career as a wide player up until that point, and still managed a very respectable 14 goals! We have not only signed a back up for Dom, we have also signed a very decent wide man at this level who will thrive when asked to hug the touchline.

In my opinion with the squad he has been able to assemble Parker should be achieving a comfortable top six finish, perhaps even running West Brom close for second.

Wrong, again.
The Surridge fee was not 5.5 up front, it was 2 up front with add one, as widely reported.
The Danjuma money has not been ‘banked.’ It will be used as vital cash to allow the club to operate and survive. Even with the (reduced) parachute payments, we are still running at an unsustainable level and require cash from sales to survive. This is due to both our wage bill, and money we owe in transfer instalments. If you don’t believe me, check the accounts.

Our Achilles heel last year was our inability to beat poor sides - our record against the bottom six was terrible. Yet here we are moaning about the fact that Christie has only performed against poor teams. If that is what he does, then BRING IT ON. It is exactly what we need.

Really like the fact that both loan players, we have an option to buy however I still think we need another keeper (and loan Travers out). 8.5/10 window for me!

The starting 11 for the next league game will be really interesting! Players back from injury and players having had time to settle in!

Yes, hopefully they can gel very soon. Positively, I don't think we're relying so much on individual players any longer. There is competition all over the place now. Also, more support for the current players.

Relieved we didn't lose any more players such as Jeff , Billing and Brooks. Two good signings. We now have a plethora of midfielders and hopefully some decent competition for that sole striker role.

Surely how the 7 players signed in this transfer window perform will determine if this window was a success.
Exactly this. We won't know how good a window it was until we see how it plays out on the pitch - and I include the new manager as part of that window too.

After fighting tooth and nail to get Parker in, they appear to have backed him in the transfer window. I get the feeling that this is Parker's squad, so the onus now is on him to deliver. No hiding now.
