Our strongest 11…

Agree we have personnel for 3-4-3 but that looks more defensive than necessary. Why wouldn't Kilkenny with protection of back 3 fit?.

How many of your 11 have PL season in them for next year, might be best 11 today but how do ween ourselves off the injury plagued old legs that may need replacing in 12 months.
You think it's two defensive?....I only have Pearson as a holding midfielder tbf....I'm only thinking about this season tbh.... it's an important one.

As I say the central midfield is a complete headache, there’s scope to have allowed Kilkenny out on a loan. How you choose between a fit Pearson, Cook and Lerma and now Christie I don’t know!

I put Davis ahead of Zemura based on his experience, granted we shouldn’t be dropping either Zemura or Anthony at the moment on paper….
Davis doesn't really have anymore experience than Zemura does he?

I think you can drop both, they need time. Lowe offers more than Anthony at the moment. Hes done a great job but the last couple of games have also shown his decison making and finishing has not been quite there. Not his fault at all, hes young and learning his trade at this level. I dont think weve bought the players in that we have to give Anthony all the time he needs to mature. He will get his chances and quite possibly be an excellent impact sub but hes not quite there yet.

I disagree. We all bang on about partnerships. Anthony and Zemura have shown about as telepathic a partnership as you can get, and both work well with Solanke. If Anthony wasn't quite there would he have a goal and 2 assists? If you're referring to the Hull game, I fail to see that his decision making and finishing was worse than Brooks, Marcondes, Solanke....

Lowe is an exciting prospect and we all hope he can be the new Danjuma but Anthony is definitely Championship ready and we should be using that Zemura partnership as a weapon in our arsenal.

Not much in it, but Davis has experience at a higher level. I have no idea who is the better player of the two, but I have my concerns about Zemura defensively. Links up superbly with Anthony going forward though so he's got that in his favour.

Its ok to disagree. I think they have an excellent partnership, you can see they play together extremely well. Our past 2 performances have not been good enough though, not sure anyone will disagree with that. Anthony has faded in the last couple of games and while we can talk about Brooks (I agree he needs to take a time out as well) Im simply looking at what Anthony offers once he is in and around the penalty area.

Slight divergence, but my preferred 11 for the final game (assuming nobody is rested because we have walked it).

Travers
Stacey Rossi Kelly Davis
L Cook Pearson
Rogers Christie Anthony
Solanke

Rationale is that's the team I want to reach their potential and give us greatest prospect for the season that follows regardless of division. What happens between now and then is going to fill these Boards weekly.

Early last season we rotated too much for some, so either they will be complaining or others will be complaining we are not giving time to certain players, particularly former academy ones.

Personally, I just hope every 11 gives me the same enjoyment as the one I felt during the original great escape, when we won nothing but they made you proud every single week.
What have you seen from Davis to suggest that he has more potential than Zemura?

Anyone?
We could now field an entire starting 11 of players that weren’t in the squad 2 years ago. The selection headache here has to be midfield….

Is this our strongest 11 if everyone is fit?

Nyland

Stacey
Cahill
Kelly
Davis

Brooks
Lerma
Billing
Rogers

Solanke
Lowe

Leaves a bench/rest of the squad of:

Travers
S.Cook
Mepham
Smith
Marcondes
Christie
Pearson
L.Cook
Rossi
Kilkenny
Zemura
Anthony
Saydee
It's up to SP now to get us up to the Prem...he would have known his budget when he arrived so presumably has bought the lads he needed within it, so let's see how good he really is! When he arrived with us the only thing I can remember him repeatedly saying was that the team had to work hard, well that's up to him. UTC

Kelly starts at left back in my view. Ahead of the other options there and not part of our strongest CB pairing.

Also a thought I've had if we are thinking that Cook and Cahill can form a partnership.

It could see Adam Smith play as the wing-back bombing up and down the flank but Kelly sit as we turn to a back three in possession.

Yeah I respect your opinion. I just disagree that Anthony isn't ready, he has already shown what he is capable of and he will only get better. Hull wasn't good enough from any of our forwards so also a tad unfair to single out Anthony IMO.

We I did point out Brooks as well. Dom did well with what he was feeding off which is part of the issue with the rest of the attacking line. Dont we have an issue in the creating chances stats? If Anthony is not part of the problem who is?

I don't think he's ready to be a regular starter in a side that has promotion aspirations.

What have you seen from Davis to suggest that he has more potential than Zemura?
Absolutely nothing, it's all based on subjective feel of who could get to the highest level, so Davis gets the edge because of where he has come from, with some appearances for Leeds, rather than what I have seen. I don't think he left Leeds to be a bit part so hoping fulfills that potential. If Zemura exceeds that, then would be even better.

From my perspective it has been partly tactical and partly misplaced passes from everyone when building from back to front. In that respect Anthony has been part of the problem. But when everything has been clicking, he has looked dangerous. So I think he's also part of the solution.
