He's been great recently. I've always said he needs to dominate games more. His brilliant form of late hasn't really coincided with a brilliant run of results and he's the heartbeat of the side.
Wilshire-esqueThe way he takes the ball in tight situations, turns and makes space time and again, is a joy to behold
It’s not a black and white world. He was awful for ages. There was a time earlier on this season when all of us would have had him last pick of our midfield behind even Kilkenny. Nothing wrong with people stating how they feel at the time and questioning would he ever recover from those injuries.Spot on.
Amusing how many fans write someone off, particularly with his pedigree.
Will no doubt say 'well I can change my mind' which of course they can, but does make me laugh sometimes. They then get upset about loyalty when players hit a vein of form and decides to move on.

We all seem agreed now as well that he is in his finest form and has been a joy to watch for weeks.
Both of those sentiments were accurate at the time they were written/spoken. It’s not about people changing their mind it’s about Cook changing his form and people reacting accordingly.
If you want the epitome of fan fickleness in the face of unknown conditions, you need look no further than David Brooks. He took a lot of sh*t for poor performances, little did we know what he was dealing with.Well maybe you didn;t , but some people were laying into him hard on here at times.
Of course people can change their mind, but when they're belittling someone who clearly has the potential/ability and has been in out with injuries for years, then their opinion changes when he hits a run of form, just makes them look a bit fickle/clueless at times.
No one gets it right all the time of course and some players are 'deadwood' for whatever reason, or people have their favourites, but maybe people shouldn;t be so harsh to lay in, then just say 'well I can change my mind' when they get it wrong.
Mind you, did the good form start after he was being booed
Silly example to be honest. Fans can only judge a player based on how he plays. If you want the epitome of fan fickleness in the face of unknown conditions, you need look no further than David Brooks. He took a lot of sh*t for poor performances, little did we know what he was dealing with.
Btw, hope that he is getting closer to peak health. Would love to see him in the stands at DC for one of the final two games to celebrate promotion with the team and the fans.
I'm saying that players sometimes face off-field circumstances that are unknown to fans which affect their play. Family issues, health issues, even contract issues.Silly example to be honest. Fans can only judge a player based on how he plays.
Are you suggesting that no player is ever critiqued on the off chance that they possess an undiagnosed health condition?
What poster have my ‘shenanigans’ cost? LolI'm saying that players sometimes face off-field circumstances that are unknown to fans which affect their play. Family issues, health issues, even contract issues.
I actually agree that we can only judge players by what we see, but we should always keep in mind that there are things that we don't see.
Looks like you are spoiling for a fight. I'll give you one, but let's do it by dm so that the rest don't have to wade through it. Your shenanigans have already cost us a very valuable poster who is worth a thousand of you.
Credit where it's due. Parker has always talked Lewis up and man managed him very well. It’s not a black and white world. He was awful for ages. Parker comes across as a very good man manager.Credit where it's due. Parker has always talked Lewis up and man managed him very well.
It continues to demonstrate your self-absorption and contempt that you haven't noticed. "Lol"? Not funny one bit. What poster have my ‘shenanigans’ cost? Lol
Absolutely agree, as in every walk of life and profession. Everyone has a back story which impact their lives in one way or another and often only the closest people to them are aware of it.If you want the epitome of fan fickleness in the face of unknown conditions, you need look no further than David Brooks. He took a lot of sh*t for poor performances, little did we know what he was dealing with.

Or...and bear with me here...some of us could see he was simply played out of position. Something you yourself stated more than once.
Playing Solanke in goal and stating hes out of form would be laughable. Playing Cook wide or as one of a front 3 made no sense. Stick him in the holding midfield position and allow him to quarter back and he shows what he is able to do.
