Season Ticket Prices

Speaking to a Liverpool fan the other week, he showed me his Season Ticket which was on his mobile. Surely that is the easy way to do it although I realise you would require different technology at the turnstiles.

Tottenham are the same - their stadium is completely cash free

Any club putting prices up would be a PR disaster. I can't see any club (certainly in PL clubs) putting them up any time soon. I doubt any will dare after what happened when Liverpool tried it.
My mate says his West Ham season ticket price has gone up....

So West Ham will make an extra what, £1.5m-ish over the season? £221m revenue last year. Fecking over fans for a whopping 0.6% increase in revenue when they could probably get that out of a sponsor or save it on a transfer using addons / achievement payments. I just don't get it.

Increasing prices is the ' on trend' thing to do at the moment. West Ham are trendy , Bournemouth aren't. Suits me :D

We have to remember economies of scale here.

It makes less sense to invest in the latest entrance and ticketing technology when your ground holds only 10k compared to 30,40 or 50 thousand entrances per game.

By the same token, our season ticket numbers are low and reducing, so ticket office staff are just doing renewals in addition to their normal jobs. Clubs like spurs probably have a small team of people managing season ticket renewals and admin.

I go and watch Bromley in the National League every now and then. They use e-tickets. Their newsletters and updates are also far more professional and better written than those I get from Bournemouth.

Correct. Compared to other teams the number of staff that work at the club is very small. There has been a number of people leaving which slowed things down.

With such a small gate a slight increase has no useful affect for us. AFCB survives on media, sponsorship etc. Whereas these club that have announced increases have larger grounds and gate revenue is significant.
