I was just pointing out one of the reasons quite a few media pundits/ writers had them as relegation candidates. In conjunction with the quality of players that departed, and the managerial turmoil.
Because they were the lowest scoring team in the league last season and lack of goals is normally a sign you will be battling relegation ( unless you are Dyche at Burnley after finishing it the top half scoring less than one goal per game)
Agreed on your last point although I would argue how he's doing at Wolves goes a long way to dispel the PE teacher clueless manager opinion some push on here.
But I would argue against your point it's worked out as the season hasn't finished yet and if our current form continues through March...
A poor March and the same "real" fans will be doubting the manager and his exciting football I can bet.
I'm not swayed by others on here, I'm just not comfortable sacking a manager who did really well to keep us up in very difficult circumstances. And now he's gone on to take the lowest scoring...
if its a one off to keep your team in the cup its pragmatic management to me. Much rather still be in the competition than loose happy in the knowledge 50% possession was achieved.
Interesting you pick on one game to try and prove a point.
Their average league possession is higher than ours.
They have scored more goals
They have won more games
Oh and Brighton are second in the league on possession so not a good match-up to use.
Agreed everything seemed rushed in the final third to me, leading to poor first touches, too many touches or poor decisions.
Maybe the high intensity run around like nutters tactics from AI is having an effect on this?
Yeah must be awful for thier fans seeing more goals, winning more games and having more of the ball. They must be devastated they might have to endure more of it in one of the euro comps.
If Truss had been put there by the electorate I'd be much more concerned because her ideas would have been scrutinized by the media but she didn't. A tiny partisan membership put her in position after she promised the moon based on ideas of un-transparent think tanks. Made a pigs ear of it , the...
I hear what you say but the thing to bear in mind Truss didn't win approval for her approach in a GE and so didn't receive the scrutiny an election would bring. If a party proposed higher spending higher taxes they would be challenged to say how it would work to get elected. Corbyn got rejected...
She didn't have a legitimate plan, she tried to cut tax without the fiscal headroom to do it and the markets reacted. She champions the free market so more fool her that she ignored the warnings just to try and get political gain.
Interesting shes now complaining about the "deep state" yet...
She was a liberal and then she wasn't, she was a remainer and then she wasn't. Got elected PM by promising immediate tax cuts and other significant fiscal change to the conservative members without saying how it would be balanced and now is spouting conspiracy theories because the free market...
I would agree it's doable but not if we don't maximise the points in games where we play well.
On current points per game we will finish on around 44/45 which won't be enough for 12th.
