Lackluster signing. I have my doubts however I hope I'm wrong. I think there were better opportunities out there.

Impressive interview – sounds like he'll be providing the much needed direction at the back.

Don’t like him… it’s his fault we got relegated by one point… ;)

On 18 June 2020, Nyland was involved in a controversy after he appeared to carry the ball across the goal line after saving a free kick from Oliver Norwood and colliding with one of his own defenders. Because of interference with the Hawk-Eye goal line technology, play was allowed to continue and Sheffield Unitedwas denied a goal.[24]

I didn’t realise he was at Norwich last season tbh. I’m wondering if he’s been brought in as experienced backup with consecutive Championship promotions under his belt, in case Travers doesn’t work out. If it’s more that then I’m pretty happy tbh, if he’s going to immediately be No1 I feel like we could’ve reached higher. But again it’s sorted now so who cares lol.

Think this is a good, though not amazing, signing. We needed more depth and experience in our goalkeepers and that's exactly what he provides. Not a Begovic replacement, but we weren't likely to find someone of his quality in our price range. Seems like Travers will stay #1, have an experienced head to learn from, and be a solid backup in case of any injuries/severe drops in form.

Tbf of all the people to blame its not him. He let it in afterall.

@ChampagneCherry called it.
A friend of mine is a Villain – I'm awaiting his thoughts.

Paves the way for Travers to get a meaningful year on loan if Parker can get a better number 1 in, or get meaningful time if he stays.

Credit to recruitment guys for acting now and not risking everything at the last minute.

Going to get paranoid if Izquierdo who is also out of contract turns up to offer similar back up to our currently missing.

Is Nyland available for tomorrow's squad selection?

In his interview on COWS he does apologise for that and says that the best way to make amends is to ensure that AFCB return to the PL.
Can't say fairer than that, he didn't obscure Hawkeye deliberately. Sounds like a decent bloke who wants to do his best to put things right. Sounds very positive and confident, I hope he takes that onto the pitch.

Yes, it does sound as though we signed him to help with Travers' development for a season and as a capable replacement should Travers get injured or suffer a loss of form. Sounds fair enough. We probably need to think of Nyland more as a player/coach in the current setup.

The fact that we are still chasing Woodman and that Nyland has only been given a one year deal after already training with us, suggests that we are just looking to him to provide some experienced backup to help out with our current two young keepers.

If we can get Woodman in then maybe we will try to find a loan at a decent level for Travers but perhaps the hope is that Travers can be pushed on by Nyland to be our regular number two in that scenario, which probably would be the best thing for the future of the club.
