Never thought I'd see a British girl win a Grand Slam again in my lifetime, never mind this year.
After Wimbledon, I knew Emma Raducanu would make a decent impression on the tennis world, but not like this, and this quickly!!

Won't forget this sporting day in a hurry.
 
Wow!

That was nerve wracking at the end but what a way to win and another very strong performance under pressure .

Sky is the limit for Emma.

Only watched the highlights as not a big tennis fan but that was some great tennis !

Was very impressed that she didn't seem to tighten up in those last few games, when her opponent really started going for everything. Nerves of steel!
 
An incredible game between two exceptional tennis players. That said, I thought Fernandez’s reaction/behaviour when Emma got injured was out of order and not in the spirit of the game we’d seen prior. Well done Emma!
 
Not watched tennis for a long time, it was always the same old faces winning.

Yesterday it was a breath of fresh air and youth playing, two young ladies both wanting to win gave us an entertaining game to watch with a number of long games.

It was a pity that our girl fell and cut her leg and had no choice but to get it treated at a critical time in the match.

This upset the Canadian and there was a long discussion between her and one of the top officials about the stoppage.

All credit to the young Canadian in defeat, she didn’t complain when being interviewed at the end of the match and accepted defeat gracefully.

Those two young ladies were a real credit to the sport.
