Freddie Woodman

... am I right in thinking the loan window stays open for a few weeks after today...?

If so, still plenty of time to negotiate on Woodman coming here for a season-long loan with an option to buy... Positive for both parties as we get to see if Nyland is up for the No.1 jersey and they get to see if Dubravka can regain fitness...

After watching the goals he conceded against Man Utd I bloody hope we don't go back in for him in January..... horrendous!....

surely we give travers the chance now to establish himself just like zemura and Anthony
Sure, why not at this stage. It looks like we will pretty solid defensively in front of him, and he should be ready to work out any mistakes. Plus, an experienced keeper behind him if need be.

Posted the same after West Ham. Defensive Swansea side gave him a lot of protection last season…except at Dean court of course!

We need more Goalscorers and Midfielders who can get goals..to compensate for the amount we will concede if we go up.
..or more realistically to ensure we go up next season with a rampant attacking outfit that won't quiver and implode at Man City!

Parker still wants Woodman!....why?.....surely he can't be looking beyond Travers as our long term goal keeper.

GK situation a tough one isn;t it. Travers has been immense and will no doubt keep growing. Can't imagine Woodman would be (relatively) cheap and could end up just sat on our bench for a few months. But at same time we seem exposed if Travers was to get injured.

Surely Woodman wants to get away from Newcastle in order to get first team football....why would he come here as a no.2?.....if Travers makes one mistake would he be dropped?......Woodman was Parkers original choice.

If travers was injured or suspended against Barnsley we would have lost. Travers has saved us so many points this season. Our next choice is Nyland. I would welcome Woodman if he is available.

Well Parker can be honest and tell Woodman Travers is decent, doing well etc and that he (Woodman) comes to the club to push/compete for the GK spot. Its then up to Woodman to decide if he's up for it or not.

Or he could just lie and tell him that, or that he expects him to be no.1 in a few weeks, but just leave him the bench, knowing full well he's bringing him in as backup. Obviously potential pitfalls to this method...

Would be a strange move for him tbh..... he's not in anyway at the same level as Travers.
