AFC Bournemouth v Queens Park Rangers

Again I thought the atmosphere was patchy. A handful of known chants get belted out by the entire stand, and then for long periods inbetween most of the NS is quiet or politely clapping.

The Ted shack made some decent sustained noise which was good. I don't know if there's been some changes in seats since before lockdown, have some folks moved over there?

Intense end to the match, would have been a lot more comfy you feel had Billing scored not smashed the post. Good job Travers is an excellent shot stopper and got one bit of luck missing the ball and it hitting a QPR player and dropping into his hands, but 5ish decent saves. Ref seemed to like giving us yellow cards and not QPR, Willock was it could easily have been off for attempting to kick Smith and Smith got booked for a perfectly good challenge. Good win, QPR are decent going forward, lucky we are too!
Agree - Billings shot goes in and I think we really put our foot to the floor and win 4or5 nil …

Always great to beat QPR...they were considered a bogey team by many old fans in earlier decades ( late 40s pipped us for promotion).

A good night all round..joint top for 24 hours at least !

And....Ron Aldo got abused by Young Boys on his Man Utd Honeymoon !

8 yellows, both managers complaining about the ref. missed a penalty for handball on Smith and a red for kicking out at a player. Every time there was a collision he gave a foul. missed a foul on Brooks then gave him a yellow card. awful refereeing.

Warburton was complaining because there weren't enough yellows. Parker because there were too many.

I also think the pen would have been given if the shot hadn't gone in.

Even so... it was frickin awful from Stroud. 21 fouls against because anytime there was a challenge the QPR player went down and Stroud bought it. Presumably under instruction from Warburton to try and get as many set pieces as possible.

I'd love to see the stats because Dom covered a huge distance. He really put in a shift.

Christie a bit off the pace and didn't quite get what other players were trying to do but that's understandable given the short amount of time he's been here.

Looked like Warburton had worked out JZ & JA but still couldn't stop them.

Travers continues to improve.

But we would have taken a 2-1 win all day long before the match.

And if you'd told me after Hull that we'd be joint top after QPR then I'd have been delighted.

Must have been a cracker for neutrals on sky sports. Great game. Stressful. Ref was terrible, one of those where both teams will feel the other got the rub of the green. Think both managers are probably right.

Think we were very lucky. Travs did well. Antony, Brooks and Zemura good. Dom worked hard and a nice finish. Christie okay but hope he improves. Billing didn't do much. All in all, I think our passing was poor. Was again really nervous with our defending. Kelly was not convincing, neither was Smith at the back. Zemura under pressure because of his red.

Good win and room to be better.felt Christie was off the pace but will get better.as we all.know the championship is relentless and getting results like tonight are vital

I thought Christie was fantastic tonight. Lots of key interceptions and touches. Glimpses of a great player there.

I've been in the South Stand for Barnsley and QPR and both have been good efforts at outsinging noisy away fans. Got to love the banter with the away fans too, feel like I'd be missing out now if I was sat in the NS.

I thought the crowd was the best it’s been in a long while. I think our mics are pretty shite for whatever reason.

Thought it was decent at the end and in patches throughout… Ted Shed was most vocal I’ve heard it so great to hear noise coming from the other end, and digging out some of the older songs…

Also pleased to hear ‘Eddie had a dream’ get started by the left side of the NS… Never really understood why it’s been put to bed… It was the one song that was belted out and just cos he’s not here should be no reason to not sing it…

Imo for the last few seasons the Ted shed has become the 'loud' stand on the ground and the NS had dropped right off

Travers made some good stops, although ones you expect a good keeper to save. Still a bit flappy on corners though.

Not sure I completely agree. Room for improvement on corners, 100%. But the header from the corner that he saved was really good and powerful. It may not be something that leaves you asking "how did he get to THAT" that the top keepers may pull off, but good keepers will sometimes lose to it and you just say "well done" and lay the blame on the defense letting them get a clean header. Maybe it's a fine line between "expect" and "hope" and we may place it differently. For me, it's in the range of saves I'd hope for a good keeper to make, but not necessarily expect them to make 90% of the time. Anyway, hope he can kick on from here with a bit of confidence.

From the MS the Ted Mac Shed seemed to make plenty of noise. Pity the NS didn't pick up "Were from Bournemouth" which we could hear clearly in the MS from the Ted Mac Shack although perhaps many are too young to remember it.
