Ryan Christie

Really like the look of him.Watched the game closely and observed a few things.
-constantly on the move while his team were in possession, looking to pick up pockets of space and play on the half turn. Played one lovely through ball to Robertson to create a good chance after driving forward with the ball.
-he seemed quite comfortable spinning in behind and running into the channels when the spaces opened up too.
-he seems to both have an eye for a creative pass and is comfortable driving forward with the ball.
-the one negative was the relatively easy chance he missed towards the end of the match, but even then the way he found the pocket of space and took an absolutely exquisite first touch to open the opportunity up was very encouraging.
-Scotland as a team were very poor, they have some decent players but I’m not entirely sure what philosophy the coach there is trying to implement. It seemed a bit like they just threw eleven players together and hoped they would produce. hopefully he will thrive even more in a better set up.

I appreciate the synopsis agent Waz, as there was no way I was going to invest a second watching Scotland v Moldova!

There does seem to be a loy of positive rhetoric about Mr. Christie

Looks like a very classy player. In fact I’d go as far to say that he is exactly what we have been lacking in that number eight position. Ability to drive with the ball and pick a creative pass. Clearly got a goal in him too. Still not sure how we managed to get him tbh.

Lazy seems an odd accusation for a player who, the one consistent comment we've had for him from everyone who's seen him, is that he works hard.

Would have liked to see him bury that chance yesterday, got himself in a great position though which is the main thing.

All of these negative opinions about Christie choosing us over Burnley or leaving Celtic to come to us. People seem so MIGHTILY OFFENDED that he's chosen to come to such a club like us... I find it funny. Neither side is much stronger than us. Maybe that's another reason why he wanted out and didn't want to join Burnley. The arrogance...

There must be so much scrutiny and criticism playing for a huge club like Celtic, as well as unwanted attention for players as they go about their day to day lives. Given that he’s won all he’s ever going to win in Scotland, who can blame him seeking a new challenge in completely different but arguably much better surroundings. Also agree with others who say the reality is that he is going to be playing with better players in a better league.

Scrutiny and criticism at a big club like that goes with the territory, but currently it feels from the outside looking in, quite toxic.

Why would anyone want to play for Celtic? More grief than any comparable club for a fraction of the reward. Their fans slaughter anyone that wants to leave as a money grabbing mercenary yet clearly the reason they want to go is much closer to home.

Like an abusive husband questioning his ex-wife's character once she's finally had enough and fucked off.

Christie did alright today I thought but could have done more. Would have liked to see him further forward instead of Billing.

One very nifty bit of ball control down the wing. Looks to have some skills about him, but it'll take time to adapt.
