AFC Bournemouth v Queens Park Rangers

Hi all,

The xG timeline below. Remember they aren't my stats and xG is flawed but interesting to some :).

I've delayed posting this as I hoped, unsuccessfully, that they would re-evaluate Billing's chance which is rated 1 in 20, which seems low.

Travers' flap doesn't register as it wasn't a shot, it looked like it bounced off Kelly and gloriously fell back to Travers. I'm a nervous viewer and thought that QPR had looked the better team (which is why I need the neutral view). The last 15 mins was a tough watch .

Big chances were: For us, the two goals (46% and 50%) and a shot from Christie that I can't remember, maybe it was blocked. For them, it was the goal and the two headers from the corner after Travers' save (all about 1 in 7) and Gray's chance late in injury time which was about 1 in 4. Credit to QPR for the pressure, I'd be surprised if they aren't in the top 6 at the end of the season.

They sang Chelsea reject at Dom and Cahill and I reckon it's one of the most cringeworthy chants I've heard. What point are they trying to make? You could understand Chelsea fans singing it but to give someone grief because they are no longer good enough to get in your rivals team is weird. Especially when those rivals are levels above your club and don't really give a toss about you.

Same as when we sang you'll never play for Chelsea to Bamford surely?

Fair enough. As an aside, on the few occasions I've been to Goodison Park I thought the whole place was as quiet as a mouse. They scored six in one of these games too. Very disappointing as I'd thought it would be the more lively of the Liverpool clubs.

Yeah..I've heard similar...the game I saw was v Saints...last of a season mid 70s.. Saints were trying to avoid relegation and Everton had a chance of Europe..Everton lost it 3-1 or 3-0...and it got a bit nasty..

Well I suppose all chants are a bit pathetic when you think about it. Point taken.
At least pathetic ones are just that, but there not all just pathetic.

We all have different values, but if you would be happy to teach the chant to your 8 year old then it's okay by me, pathetic or not. If not then ask yourself why?

Thanks Matt, so did Zemura's shot that was pushed round by the keeper not rate much?

It was rated as a 1 in 11 chance.

Whilst I'm writing, it was good to see that W Brom were so wasteful last night. xGs - W Brom 2.45 Derby 0.13. We'd certainly be moaning about 2 points dropped if that happened to us.

An 8 yr old will hear chants at a football match
We must have one of the weirdest crowds north of Santiago..
..some have said how quiet the Main Stand is...but right back in the mid 60s ...that always puzzled and annoyed me...it has always been, apart from some isolated games about the least vociferous and rowdy of all 92 league clubs.
Dad took me in the main stand a couple of times for Div 3 games....so quiet and dull..and always for Reserve games if we attended those.
...I remember, later during the Bond Era . on my one and only main stand visit during those years...a posh old boy..saying to me at the end .." If you come back in here - please leave your atrocious mouth at home ..I have never heard anything so blatantly disgusting "...... but all I did was encourage the Cherries to attack...and bawl out Bristol Rovers when they fouled us !
A town full of Tories. ;-)

There doesn't seem to be so many "early risers" at Dean Court this season. Most of them are the same ones each match, to be fair to some, they look like they have mobility or balance issues and need to avoid the post match melee. There were more in the Prem days, mainly big club infiltrators, seeing their team winning easily and pishing off 10 minutes early. Not only was that annoying but some would stop for selfies on the way out blocking the view.
