Non - Pandemic

All about opinions, but personally think ditching them is a mistake.

Cases are still rising and we haven’t reached the Autumn/Winter period yet.

We have passports, driving licences etc with ID.

So with vaccine passports, if people don’t want the vaccine by choice, then why should they possibly put others at risk in crowded indoor venues.
Are cases still rising?

I don't understand how it makes sense. Doing a lateral flow test on the day is surely better?

Another Government policy in the bin then having probably cost millions to set up ?

TBH not sure how much they were being checked at these events.

hmm..

Mixed messages from the Government again?

Think those comments you posted from twitter are not far off the mark.

On another point that has been rumoured re doing away with PCR tests in this para below from Sky story. A friend of my son has recently returned from Finland, on one of the PCR tests she had after her return, it showed positive and she has been double jabbed. So on that basis it might not be wise to do away with them, but make sure they can be done at little cost for those who have to take them.

Sajid Javid has said he wants to remove the PCR test requirement when returning from some foreign countries "as soon as I possibly can" - as he confirmed plans for vaccine passports to get into crowded venues had been axed.

The health secretary told Sky News he was aware of the cost for families holidaying abroad and that the testing measures should not be in place "for a second longer than is absolutely necessary".

Mr Javid said he had asked officials to remove the PCR rule "at the moment we can".

Talk of masks returning in the winter - wouldn’t be surprised.

I find a lot of older people still wear them inside but younger ones don’t.

U.K. Health Secretary Matt Hancock hailed Tuesday’s announcement as another success for British life sciences.
“The U.K. government has funded these clinical trials and it is fantastic to see Valneva’s vaccine produces a strong immune response,” he said in a press release. “This vaccine will be made onshore in Livingston in Scotland, giving another boost to British life science, and if approved will play an important role in protecting our communities.”
The French company said it is in “ongoing” discussions with other regulators. Valneva and the European Commission have not signed an advanced purchasing agreement, but completed
“exploratory talks” to secure up to 60 million doses for the bloc.

Daily mail going full moaning again.

Daily Telegraph front page cartoon carries on their lack of support for boris

You can fool less of the people less of the time as the pm becomes more of a liability than an asset.

Ridiculous that Williamson stayed in his role for so long, but it was not knowing who Marcus Rashford was that cost him.
