Leif Davis

This is Zemura's first season playing at this level – I can't see him playing all the games – it's just not possible. Davis will get his chance.

Tbh loans of youngsters are a gamble … this is a tough league and it is hard for unproven academy types to establish themselves..even or own Anthony and Zemura still have plenty to learn and need time to develop?..
I would let them back to their clubs and try and get a couple of more experienced types in to balance the side…especially a right back and striker

You would think with his connections he could get some premier league quality loan signings and not youth team players. I saw Delli Ali had his name mentioned for a loan, but then he played today, so that rules out that long shot dream.

If only...

So.. why did we bring them to DC...if they are not at least Championship level... yet they came from PL clubs...and now our usual Forum ' experts' can suggest that they may only be L1 standard...far down the pecking order in their respective playing positions at Boscombe.
What are Boscombe, Man City and Leeds getting wrong about these guys careers.
I can't make any sense of it.

Man City and Leeds value what they perceive to be his potential ability rather than his current one whether as a future player or a saleable asset.

They need to prove their value in a really short period of time if they want to establish themselves because few clubs are willing to provide on the job training for another club's player for nothing. I feel like a youth player almost needs to play a bit lower than their level. Anthony for example was playing for Weymouth last season.

Yes is quite rare for youth players to break into the clubs starting 11 as regulars, at least further up the pyramid.

That's quite a jump in Anthony's example. Usually the player excels at level or 2 below before breaking through into parent clubs starting 11.

With Zemura going away for the African Cup of Nations, I think it'd be good to keep Leif. If we send him back and Brady gets injured we're down to playing Mepham at LB, and some people here would probably jump off a cliff if that happens again. Rogers hasn't had enough time to show what he can do, but also hasn't offered many glimpses in the appearances he has had, and we have depth in his area, so I don't really care if he stays or goes.

In theory yes, but that could be another load of games relying on people we're not sure are up to it, or suit our style. Not sure we can afford to carry anyone and potentially throw a load more points away at this stage. A very good (for this level) left back may be a priority in January. Feel a bit exposed in that position at present, also if Zemuras gets injured again further down the line we end up in same situation again, which we really can;t afford imo.

Dwight Gale, Vydra or Rodriguez could all be good bets

We have Kelly who can play left back and Brady. I worry about right back as well as Smith and Stacey are both quire injury prone. The difficulty is attracting a player who is willing to be on the bench. I guess that's either a young player or an older one.

yeah, I although class SMith as right back, 2 good players in each position are whats needed (for single positions in the formation, so more needed in centre mid, centrre back etc). like you say, if stacey injured, or dubious form as we've seen too often recently and smith is playing left back, you end up compromising somewhere, to much for my liking. Plus smith right footed, so again not convinced by shoe horning him in there, although I prefer him to other left backs we have at present (not inlcuding zemuras).

Issue with Brady is, I'm not sure how suited he is to bmbing forwards, fitting our style as left back. Davis does this, but not up to standard at present, unfortunately. Kelly is more of a centre back, or defense minded LB - so again, doesn;t fit our strongest style as a full back, so end up compromising our play.

Those strikers you mentioned are good shouts. Sure Rodriguez can play as a wide forward too, which could be useful. Will be difficult attracting a top striker for this level as Dom will continue to start, so they'd only be playing a sub, or if injured.guess that's the same issue with getting a left back in too. Risk is of course hoping dom doesn't get injured or we will find ourselves short and season potentially ruined.

I think Saydee deserves more of a go as well. He seems like a natural scorer. The other thing they need is a good sports psychologist to rebuild confidence because we've lost it.
