Because some idiot in a Poole pub recently during my mums funeral wake said to me that he'd heard he was a racist and zenophobe...so I thought I'd keep his good name buoyant and to make up the number !

I said to a mate outside the ground that Stroud was in charge, that he used to live locally and that it felt like we always did alright with him in charge. Then I watched him unravel during the course of the game.
We still did alright though.

We parked up at one of the Premier league away games v Stoke, went in a local pub full of Stoke fans, we were the only bmth fans. Very friendly and knowledgeable about football.Been in many full Stoke pubs early 90's. Great places to be

Inside the bearpit though isn't it (although I remember Stoke fans saying at the time they were only jeering before it was apparent he was properly injured)
You can't judge places on a footie experience 100% really.
Remember my mum, Gran and brother came up to Stoke for a few days when I was there at Uni and my gran kindly did the laundrette run and the old ladies came up to her and chatted straight away. She was a bit blown away by that!
