Seems this has won a heap of awards, never heard of it, but when I YT it...............it's about football, english football !...........anyone watch it, this clips seems quite good ? I am usual late to party but never heard of it....................BTW is Game of Thrones any good :)

It’s pretty good, it’s more of a sentimental, lighthearted “feel good” comedy than you might expect. It’s a very easy watch.

Game of Thrones is incredible for the first 4 seasons, great for the next 2 and then utterly shite for the last 2. When it was good there was nothing better though.

Ta for that, but I was joking about GofT............:hmmm:

I was one of the few people that couldn;t get into GOT at all. Whole thing just felt a drag, didn't get its hooks in like many series do. Gave up beginning of season 3.

I read the books which probably didn;t help with that.

contrary to herd belief
GoT wasn’t utterly shite for the last 2 seasons.
Just rewatched the whole thing - and it is all bloody excellent.

Fair summary of GOT. Not watched Losso, may do.

That’s fine. For me GoT showed how important the writing is for tv shows and films. S7 & 8 had breathtaking visuals, fantastic acting as always...but awful writing. For me it betrayed the tone and intelligence of the previous plot lines and the books and became, without trying to be patronising, “Marvelised”.

Not trying to be the fun police here but IMO the last seasons failed to tell a good story, or even a coherent one.

Are you going to watch the new spin-off thing that’s coming out?

If you watch GoT and ;just' watch it without analysing it then it's bloody brilliant... If you try to over analyse things then you might find NWCherries98's description slightly more accurate...

I really enjoyed it for start to finish. Hadn't read a word in book and thought some of the battle scenes in the end seasons were breathtaking...

I love Ted Lasso! It’s on Apple TV which I suspect is why it’s not widely known (I got a free trial). I got into it in the depths of winter lockdown when a feel good comedy was just what I needed, but watching the second series over the summer it’s still really good.

I know non-football people who like it so it’s one all the family can watch, provided your family doesn’t mind loads of swearing.

Dunno. I was captivated immediately, but I can see why the mystery of it all wouldn't satisfy people.

I just saw it as another 'Lost' and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend another 7 years of my life invested in something that didn't really make sense...

Which is the problem with so many US shows... You get into them and then they're never to be seen again... It's the one thing British drama does well... Short series' of 6 ish episodes and maybe a handful, maximum, of series'...

'Ex of 2CR' Christian O'Connell is singing it's praises on his daily podcast from his breakfast show in Melbourne, might give it a go.

I'm still recovering after finishing 'Its a Sin' tbh.

GOT? Frankie Goes to Hollywood got it right. 'We are living in a world - where sex and horror are the new gods'

I liked "The Leftovers", it's definitely a bit loopy but I found it compelling. The cult stuff was interesting.

We're currently in the middle of "For All Mankind", which we thought would be silly but it's pretty stirring.

The new Taika Waititi comedy-drama "Reservation Dogs" is excellent.

I'm a bit miffed that AFC Richmond hasn't come up against the other AFC in "Ted Lasso" but it's a hard show not to like. Very light comedy but clearly the kind of escapism a lot of people have needed these last few years.
