The referee for this game is Tim Robinson.

So far this season in his 6 Championship games in charge he has issued 23 yellow cards and 0 reds.

Last season we had him for three games:

Away at Watford 1-1 and 5 yellows.

Home against Millwall 1-1 and 3 yellows.

Home in the play-off against Brentford 1-0 and 2 yellows.

Excellent chance for us to keep the pressure on Fulham....Luton have a LOT of injuries......we owe them a beating after last season's match where Jeff for sent off for being fouled.
Although Waz will be along in a minute to tell us that it didn't make any difference.....Made us even better apparently!

Will be an interesting test, imagine they'll line up defensively hoping for a point.

Good thing with how we seem to be playing is threat all over tge pitch. Move tge ball around well, finding pockets of space as they can't double up on everyone.

Last season we d be hoping for a danjuma moment of magic and wouldn't look like penetrating beyond that, ending up in a potential predictable stalemate, barely creating an chances.

Neither Stan or Arnie played in the last game against them.....in fact I don't think Arnie featured in either game last season.....which probably explains why we didn't score in those games .

Lol this one again. If you have the opportunity watch the match back, our best spell in the game came after Jeff got sent off, purely due to the fact that he was switching the play too slowly. In order to beat a low block you need to move the ball quickly. It helped us offensively for about a 15 minute period that day, defensively though we suffered. Jeff has been outstanding so far this season, much improved on his very average displays last year. Think it’s a bit early to be talking about applying pressure on other sides at the top, just take one game at a time, don’t worry about what others are doing.

Time to wheel out my favourite Luton story, with the usual caveat that, while it may not be true, it always makes me laugh.

Back in the seventies Eric Morecambe was a Luton Town director. In one match tempers boiled over on and off the pitch and the ref was hit by a coin. The match was briefly held up while he received attention and then it finished as usual.

Back in those days it was normal for the referee and linesmen to go into the Directors’ Lounge after the game for a cup of tea and something to eat before their journey home. So Eric Morecambe goes up to the referee and asks him if he was intending to report the incident. The referee answered “probably not” to which Eric replied, quick as a shot, “in that case can I have my 50p back?”.

So Jeff was switching the play too slowly was he? So what was Lewis Cook doing for the 26 minutes that Jeff was on the pitch!....lol.

And as for it being a bit early in the season!......well coming from someone who has pronounced that Fulham and West Brom have already secured the top two spots that really is something else!....

We huffed and puffed at home against Luton last season in that poor run of form January/February. I saw it as a clear sign that JT couldn't provide the tactics to break down a stubborn defence (something that he had in common to some extent with his predecessor and successor).

Indeed, this could be a good test of how Parker sets up the side.

Nothing is secured, they should be the top two quite comfortably with the squads they have got.
Lewis Cook can’t really be blamed for the slow tempo of Jeff’s passing.

Luton scored after Jeff went off, guess he wouldn't have made a difference to that either

Nothing is secured now then!.....lol I thought West Brom and the unbeatable Fulham were going to break all records iyo!
In a midfield two of Lewis and Jeff which do you think would be responsible for our tempo?
Jeff was responsible for doing what he got sent off for....competing for the ball!.....only you ever thought that he should be impersonating Inesta.
If you thought that our passing was too slow then you're pointing your finger at the wrong player .

It’s highly likely that Fulham win the league, let’s be honest. Second should be West Brom, but us and Sheff United might have a shout, would surprise me if we got top 2 tbh.

That's a very pessimistic assessment. Our squad has depth and width, in the sense that most positions are well covered (poss exception goalkeeper). I anticipate a finish in the top two unless there's extraordinarily bad luck with injuries. We look well capable of beating everything outside the best three or four opponents, and the QPR victory suggests we can deal with the better sides too. We managed the place-offs last season with a markedly inferior group ... let's expect the best from this lot.
