.

Not sure we can read too much into these types of games?…yes agree we need RB,LB,CDM and a goalscorer up top but we are still involved in many transfer links like Vina,Gosens,Kerkez,McNair, and others…

those post match interview questions though, zzzzzzz

“What’s the plan for the rest of pre season?” Erm, training and pre-season fixtures per chance?

No, I believe that was me, after the Hibs game, you monkey ;)
I find it’s always best to get my bed-wetting in early, leaves more time for the sheets to dry :)

Sorry about that, so having remembered I'm a fully fledged member of the Happy Evangelical Clappers Union, can I be the first to say "Iraola back in" : )

Too late. Once you've expressed an opinion on Vitals you aren't allowed to change it. That's the law.

To me it only demonstrated the need to sign players quickly. Hill and Greenwood at full back when Iraolas style is overlapping full backs was always going to be insipid.

I still worry about Traore who was a lot of money and I’m not sure what he brings to the party.

After playing in the hot conditions in Marbella, our players then come back to the UK and much better/cooler conditions for the up and coming friendlies.

Then after all those games, our new manager will have a much better idea of which players fit into his style of play.

Sorry to be bumping this old thread back up but it seemed the most relevant.

Did anybody else get the impression, when Jim Frevola was being interviewed, that his preferred option was a new build stadium ?

One of the rare parts of the interview which wasn't plagued by technical issues was when he was talking about the future. He mentioned either expansion of the current ground or a new stadium "and you know my preferred option !".

OK. His preferred option MIGHT be to stay at DC ( because he didn't actually say ) but I got the clear feeling that he is pushing for the new stadium. If he is, surely that makes it much more likely ? He's the head of business development and where our home is going to be is crucial to everything he has to be planning right now for the future.

I think we are definitely now leaning strongly towards building a new, purpose built stadium. That would also explain the rapid progress on the new training ground. Once the end date for that project is known, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get shown the plans for the new stadium which will be green lighted once everything has been moved over to the academy / centre of excellence and final approval granted.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but it's the summer break and I'm bored !:)

My impression right from the off is they wanted to build a new stadium
It was definitely on the cards but you got the feeling that redevelopment of DC was also being seriously considered when they first arrived.
I think there has been a distinct shift towards building a new stadium in the meantime. It feels like they've moved from 50:50 to about 20:80 in favour of a new build now.

Based on nothing other than the "vibes" I am getting of course ;)

He absolutely did say his preferred option was a new stadium in that interview.

I wasn't sure if he said it out aloud, I was too distracted by his previous Norman Collier impression but I did come away thinking that a new build was his preferred option and nobody seemed to pick up on that at the time.

You have to bring Strucudean into the equation......how much would they sell DC
for ?......may be silly money, hense looking to start from scratch?
