For those who were desperate for PL football next season. Today Harry Kane hand balled in the lead up to a Gareth Bale goal, VAR allowed the goal to stand as there was a ‘sufficient’ amount of time between the hand ball and the goal. This was four seconds. A goal that effectively decided Leicester’s season and meant they miss out on champions league football. Genuinely don’t think I could have sat through another season of our fate being decided by VAR. They make it up as they go along.

I'm still confused - does that mean that if a handball doesn't directly result in a goal, it's not a handball?
From next season only the scorer will be punished but seems they have started early by letting these goals stand .

What happened to the rule of the ball hitting the hand in any of the build up not being allowed? Adam smith last season rings a bell.

They tried that this season but loads of people complained that so many attacking players were being pulled up for accidental handball like in the Fulham v Spurs game when a Fulham player was adjudged to have handled the ball when making an assist.

Goals ruled out for all handballs or only deliberate ones by an attacker .

simple, accidental handball not penalised irrespective of where on the pitch it occurs, including when a defender slides in to make a block, the ball ricochets off his knee and hits his hand....

To me it has to be deliberate handball,or adjudged to be deliberate.
Its usually pretty obvious when a player has deliberately gained an advantage,taking yesterday as an example ,how can Kelly have got out the way of the way of that,and what advantage was gained ?

Probably unfortunately for you if they go with the “clear and obvious” angle but who knows !
Quite agree but it seems a fuss was created when a few strikers scored after handled the ball so they started to mess around with that rule .

Letter of law is handball above shoulder is a pen. Not sure that is relevant when on the ground though? A few refs said it was a pen.

We make up the numbers without having any hope of actually winning it,the same as Brighton.
It amazes me how many people think there club is somehow superior because they play in a bigger Stadium.
Football is cyclical for the smaller clubs,we had our Prem era and eventually dropped,as will Brighton.
