Adrien Truffert

Fascinating article. What an intelligent young lad. A real example to youngsters in application. Two years of English lessons to prepare, controlling your own destiny.

We’ve had a few players that have had to overcome a brutal event in childhood and it’s shaped them and it seems Truffert is another one… he had to spend a couple of years living in Southampton. Many kids wouldn’t have bounced back from that and it shows his strength of mind. :grinning:

'My dad says that I took my first steps on Bournemouth beach'

...so like many in Southampton his 'big day out' was Bournemouth.;)

Have to agree with above.

Truffert is alright - decent for 12 million but we do need some serious cover there ASAP. Probably send Soler on loan.

I think hes a great back up, but I have doubts whether he is a Prem standard LB.

‘Ok’ is a very big understatement, until the last game or two he’s looked a fantastic replacement for Kerkez.

Yesterday he had a bad game. That’s all.
If that's your opinion then fine.....depends what you want from a full back i suppose.....some people are happy with a steady Eddie type of full back.....other people want a full back to provide an attacking threat...which Truffert doesn't.

I think he gets forward a lot, however. as you’ve mentioned the end product maybe not the best, but he’s certainly been a fantastic signing.

I think fantastic is a bit over the top....I think he's been excellent in games where he's has a winger to mark....going forward he's absolutely clueless....that's not a fantastic signing for a attack minded manager......don't be surprised if the reason that we're letting Solar go is to upgrade that position with another Jimenez type full back...
