Adrien Truffert

I think fantastic is a bit over the top....I think he's been excellent in games where he's has a winger to mark....going forward he's absolutely clueless....that's not a fantastic signing for a attack minded manager......don't be surprised if the reason that we're letting Solar go is to upgrade that position with another Jimenez type full back...
He’s absolutely not cluless going forward as he makes the runs and looks to get the ball into the box or a decent position; the finishing product of those runs and releasing the ball is perhaps the issue, he’s certainly far from clueless though.

It will be interesting to see what we do with this position in Jan but Truffert will still be first choice I would imagine.

I have to confess I've been disappointed with Truffert the last few games. He's not the reason for our bad run but his drop off in form alongside a number of others is not helping. He seems to be weaker in the challenge than he was, his crossing rarely creates anything and he is making simple mistakes. Perhaps the sheer physicality of the PL in his first season in it is catching up with him?

It wasn’t that long ago, folks were singing his praises, and asking ‘Milos who?’… Seems to me after a bad run, and a terrible away performance yesterday, everyone has little else to do other than micro-analyse every player to try find fault… which I get…

The ‘team’ are playing badly, at times, very badly… However, this is the same team that was playing well, in fact, very well up to when Sunderland got their first goal back… and we were 4th…

Truffert is a decent player… and when we find our mojo again, he’ll be back to being a class replacement for Kerkez…

The defensive unit as a whole isn't clicking. The senior pro, Senesi, for whatever reason, has been a bit up and down which might mean Truffert has been told or feels he needs to cover for him? Whatever, nobody in defence looks entirely sure what they're supposed to be doing.

I haven’t changed my mind from what I thought earlier in the season.

Yeah , cant blame him , the defence is more than 1 player ..

You have to also bear in mind that he plays all the time . He really comes off and probably needs a bit of a rest. The full back role now is a full on one and their workrate is unreal .
You look on the other side of the pitch and the role is split between Jimenez and smith therefore both do get a rest

We really need to add some height and muscle to the back line.

That's why I'd like to see Soler get more game time.

Does whoever is playing on the wing help him out? I guess that's key as well. The advantage of having Tav on the wing is he will help out. Do Semenyo or Brooks (if on the left) do that, though?

Don't think the defensive part of the game is his problem......it's going forward that he struggles .....his final ball is terrible......it's fair to say i wasn't Kerkez's biggest fan but i can think of many a great cross from him....Spurs...Man City ...Everton......a few great goals ...Wolves ....Newcastle.......Truffert does nothing in the final third.....i think he has one assist but i can't remember it.

Fulham.
I don't like the way he is sometimes 30 yards away from who he is sopposed to be marking letting the winger loads of time to get the ball under control and make a run at him.
Diallo vs Manure is a fine example. all their attacks came from this side of the pitch due to his marking. Maybe he is told to do this from AI but i would like to see him get closer to his man.

Don't tell me his only assist is a two yard pass to Semenyo??....no wonder i couldn't remember it.

Pretty much all resources list his attacking game as one of main assets. I do wonder sometimes about the conclusions arrived at... particularly when so absolute/definitive :D

I do want to see Soler given a chance but his tiny stature worries me in an already crippled team short of physicality.
