AFC Bournemouth v Brighton - FA Cup Third Round - 12.30 pm

Doesn’t want to progress at the expense of exhausting an already threadbare 1st team. There are enough good players out there to be performing better than this
None of them will put the effort in as they all know they have no chance of getting a game in prem as Eddie is to stuck same old players

I think Ibe's done pretty well actually.
We are very unlucky to be behind at all.
As I count it, it's 9 changes from our last PL match. However, most of the players are still regulars and we've created enough to be up by a goal or two.
Simpson caught ball watching on their first; not sure about the 2nd but someone definitely messed up.

We haven't even been that poor. Just our usual concede with every shot against us and gift a nice head start to the opponent.

3 first team players don't have that excuse.

The two youngsters definitely don't have that excuse if they want to stay part of a PL squad. Otherwise a journey down the divisions awaits.

Ibe and Mousset are firmly entrenched as at least sub options so aren't really excluded from the first team.

Boruc is... well Boruc. Pugh just isn't that kind of player.

Surman knows he'll get plenty of game time this season.

That just leaves Rico who has played but must know himself he hadn't done enough yet to dislodge the incumbent. This is/was another chance for him to show what he can do.

EXACTLY.......someone with a brain.....at last!
Pure but basic Psychology
I've been rattling on and boring people with this stuff for two seasons now!

A strange game, controlled most of it without really doing anything dangerous up front. Steve Cook is having one of his off days, giving the ball away a lot from the back.
Ultimately - Lys has to score an open goal. Then they score with the first two efforts. Which is a regular occurrence no matter who is in goal and who is in defence. Part bad play, part bad luck.

Typically disjointed performance from another team which has never played together. Would like to see Fraser spared further frustration and possible injury asap. Let the stiffs try to turn this mess around. Once again though we were very unfortunate to go behind when we looked the team most likely to score. No luck at the moment. Would be happy to give Brighton this one and do the double on them in the league to be honest.
Will be interesting to see if we can find a cutting edge in the second half though. Not optimistic! But :utc:
