AFC Bournemouth v Liverpool

I haven't seen any contact but I presume it was one of those where he bumps his leg or something which affects his stride, causing him to kick his own foot on the next stride.
In which case, the contact would have been a bit earlier.

He does clip him and causes the trip.

however, it was further away from a foul than the one in the build up so Im not sure why the media are showing 15 angles when not one has talked about the reason the entire crowd are shouting "cheat cheat cheat" in the seconds leading up to the penalty.

..It wasn't a clear penalty, as Gakpo was going down knowing that Cook was behind him, he may have outsmarted the referee and Lewis by clipping his own feet together...IF the ref hadn't given it then VAR wouldn't have pushed him into looking at the monitor IMO...Itreally was a soft soft one...maybe we will get one back before the season is out (obviously not v Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd or Tottenham!)

Interestingly on ref watch, they covered the penalty, our goal, the penalty shout for us and MacAlister’s potential second yellow card and they all, including Stephen Warnock who played for Liverpool for 5 years, all agreed with every decision the ref made.

So that’s settled then.

Did the Gakpo penalty focus on the question of Cook contact, or did they take into account the earlier foul in the build-up as well? Anything that does the former and doesn't include the latter (i.e. everything I've seen in the media) is lacking so far as I'm concerned.

All those 50/50 decisions and they see each one going the way of Liverpool. Such a coincidence!

From the videos I have seen including slow motion I wouldn’t say it was a clear cut penalty.

But the panel which included Gallagher must have seen a different view or angle to say Cook clipped him.

It will be one of those talked about moments, but with Salah scoring the second it made certain even if that penalty hadn’t been given.

Another day Semenyo’s shot would have gone in as would the shot from Tavernier, it just wasn’t meant to be our day.

I saw a clip of it yesterday (can't remember where) and the contact was clear and changed gakpos foot position, before that I was sure the call was wrong

All the najor decisions were unfortunately correct, except maybe MacAllister 2nd yellow which you'd still more than often see people get away with. The issue was all the other niggly incidents and 50/50 decisions which went Liverpool's way. No Sky or MOTD highlights will ever cover that.

Still don't care what any says. That is handball by Trent all day long.

I agree. Seen from the North stand, he was in panic mode about Semenyo coming in behind his left shoulder and used his arm to control the path of the ball as it crossed his body. Perhaps that's not handball any more?
