Hat-trick Of Home Wins?
The Cherries have had a good start to this season taking 10 points in their opening 4 games. The latest was a 1-3 away win against Coventry City, it was their first home defeat since losing against Tranmere Rovers on the 13th October 2019 in League 1. First game back after the international break is at home on Saturday at 3 pm against Queens Park Rangers (QPR). The Cherries will be looking to stretch their home form to three wins out of three.
Their manager is Mark Warburton, he started his managerial career at Brentford in December 2013. At the time Brentford were in League 1, in his first season they gained promotion by finishing second behind Wolves. He spent one season in the Championship with Brentford finishing in a playoff place, that was the season AFCB went up as Champions into the Premier League, with Watford and Norwich. Warburton left Brentford at the end of that season. The following season he took over North of the border at Rangers, he had a full season there but left in February 2017. The following month he became manager at Championship side Nottingham Forest, but left at the end of December the same year. It wasn’t until May 2019 he came back into management, this time at his present club Championship side QPR.
Last season QPR finished in 13th place in the Championship table with 58 points. This season so far Queens Park Rangers have played four league games. They opened with a 2-0 win at home at Loftus Road against Warburton’s old club Nottingham Forest. Their next game was away against the team the Cherries played and beat last Coventry City, City ran out 3-2 winners. The next game was back at Loftus Road to play Middlesbrough, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Their most recent game was before the international break away against Sheffield Wednesday, this game also ended 1-1.
Queen Park Rangers have signed eight players during the Summer transfer window so far. Forward Chris Willock for £750,000 from Benfica. Four of them for undisclosed fees, midfielder Luke Amos from Spurs, forwards, Lyndon Dykes from Livingston, Macauley Bonne from Charlton and defender Rob Dickie from Oxford United. Free signings three midfielders, George Thomas from Leicester, Tom Carroll from Swansea and Albert Adomah after leaving Nottingham Forest.
The last time we played QPR at Dean Court was in April 2014, their manager was Harry Redknapp and it was his first competitive game back at our ground. The result went Eddie Howe’s team way with a 2-1 win, our scorers that day were Elphick and Grabban with his 20th goal of the season. The Cherries played the last 20 minutes or so with 10 men after Arter was given a straight red, but held onto to their lead.
In all home games in the league against QPR, AFCB have W 20, D 7, L 9.
In all competitions, AFCB have W 27, D 14, L 33.
