Andoni Iraola

According to reports he has been offered a new contract, but as yet he hasn’t signed it and may be moving on at the end of the season.

I'm sure the advocates on here for keeping supporters in the dark as long as possible would be quite happy if we were still in that situation. Just as long as everyone is acting to the letter of their contract of course.

He clearly didnt keep the club in the dark, given his replacement was announced 5 minutes after he said he was leaving.
Think your seriously naive to think the timing was his decision.

I don’t think that anyone actively advocates keeping supporters in the dark. That is just a consequence of advocating for an individual’s right to decide on their future as and when they see fit. It’s the same with players, I had no issue when Lerma ran his contract down and decided to weigh up his options.

People may not like to hear it but even club legend Smithy did it after the second season back in the champ, holding off until the last minute to sign his new deal at the time to allow maximum opportunity for better proposals to land at his agent’s door step.

They are all just professionals trying to get the best for themselves and maximise their income. Yes, in an ideal world we would have all known months earlier that he was off but the world is rarely ideal when it comes to these matters!

As I've said, it's up to them to look out for themselves. It's up to clubs to act in their best interests too. I don't know any details about the Silva situation but if it's anything like the Iraola situation the club should force him to make his mind up like AFCB appear to have done with AI.

Will you be cheering him on or clapping when he returns season?
He will be cheering him, because he made the decision in time for Del to renew his season ticket. He showed Del respect, Del will therefore show it back. Respect is very important to Del in case you hadn’t noticed

Every player that moves is f***ing off, but Derek doesn’t seem to mention this on every player thread.
Not part of his anti Andoni agenda. He’s spent threads either claiming he’s not our most successful manager and bemoaning his lack of respect for leaving before he lost energy. Had he stayed and we gone downhill Del would have been saying he’d been found out tactically.

An odd hill to die on. 99% of us will remember Andoni for the genius he is.

Anyway. Let’s hope Rose moves us on a gear again and we can be unanimous on someone!

If you go back and look Rob this series of comments has followed the same pattern of the rest of the thread when it comes to my comments on Iraola .... people are speculating (before it was if he'll stay or go, now it's about where he might go)... I speculate on what will think if x scenario turns out to be true... people lose their sh*t that anyone would dare contemplate that AI might act in a way deserving of criticism... they change my words and argue against points I've not made...I'm accused of having an anti Iraola agenda.

If you go back and re-read this entire bit and insert the words "if he goes to Palace" in front of it all, like I did, then maybe you'll see my point in the context I made it. You'll also find me saying the same things about Lerma. People haven't kicked off at me when I've mentioned this on other threads.

As I've said, if AI moves to a bigger job good luck to him, although there arent many PL jobs in which I'd wish him well in... because I don't like any of the bigger clubs in the PL.
